Josh pov

"Josh, before I head to the hotel, I wanna talk to you about Lena." Lucas said to me.

"Sure thing, what is it?", I questioned.

"Okay, look man, I know you. You have always been a nice person, smart, caring, the whole nine; but your twenty-seven and she is fifteen."

"That is true, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"I have been around the two of you all day, there's vibes, but what confirmed it was when she sang, at the restaurant. She was looking at you the whole time and I know there is something going on. I'm not accusing you, but don't insult my intelligence."

"Ok, so there is a relationship, but its complicated other than the age difference. I'm her teacher and technically her legal guardian."

"Look, I'm not judging I know you're a good guy, and I haven't been in her life 'till now so I'm not going to overstep. Just hear me out for a minute, you're at the point in your life where you are ready for the long-term commitment, the house, a wife and kids. For you to be willing to be in this relationship, risking everything like you are must mean you're ready for it with her. You still have to give her a chance to be ready too, she is only fifteen and going to be graduating high school next year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she's probably never been in a real relationship, she's never had her heart broken, and I pray she still a virgin."

"No, you're right," is all I could say back to him

"Okay then, just give her a chance to grow up a bit; I'm not making you do anything, but I do hope that you'll do the right thing for both of your sakes; let her go and if she comes back to you then you both know this is something that's meant to be. I just wanted to speak my peace about the situation, but I'm going to go ahead to the hotel now. Just give me a call tomorrow, when everyone is up."

"Will do."

With that, he left and his words and my thoughts were all that played in my head. I knew he was right, I really did. I just don't think I can be anything other than selfish with her. If we are supposed to build a real life together, she has to be able to experience it first. If I do this, I could be her first heartbreak, but she's strong, so she'll pick up the pieces and end up falling in love with a guy that is more appropriate for her. It's very possible she could live happily ever after with him and not me. That reality is one I'm not prepared for.
