42 - Stupid Heart

Ugh!

Why did he have to say that to me and why did he make my heart beat so fast all of a sudden?

"Oh! It's Jungkook and Jin. Guys! Over here!"

I immediately snap out of my thoughts and look at the entrance of the cafe and indeed it was Jungkook and Jin. I quickly turn my back and try to hide myself with my hair while I curse at Mona for calling them over and for Jungkook being here.

"What are you two doing here?"

I hear as they both sit down and also sense someone sitting next to me. As Mona answers Jin's questions, I feel a pair of eyes looking at me.

"Hey, Ally."

I slowly push my hair back and turn to look at Jungkook sitting next to me while smiling in my direction.

"Hey..."

*Thump Thump Thump*

Ahh! There goes my stupid heart again! Why is it acting this way?!

I quickly grab my coffee and awkwardly take a sip all while trying to avoid any eye contact.

"How are you?" I didn't have to look at him to see that he had a big smirk plastered on that stupid handsome face of his.

"I'm good... You?"

"I'm great, thanks for asking." I only give him a small nod to his response.

*Awkward silence*

"Are you guys not going to get coffee or anything? I mean that's why you came, right?..." I try breaking the awkward silence between us by asking Jin a question.

"Ah thats, right! I'll go order the drinks, Kookie."

As Jin gets up to go order the drinks, Mona starts talking to Jungkook and for the first time ever I was thankful for her being such a talkative and social person.

After a couple of minutes, Jin finally returns with both their drinks.

"Hey Jungkook, I gotta go back to the company. Are you coming with me or do you wanna stay?"

Please go! Go as far away as possible!

"I'll stay and hang out with them for a bit."

Someone please stab me.

We all wave goodbye to Jin as he leaves and now there's just the 3 of us. I try to relax and calm down while looking at the positive side of the situation. Mona is here meaning that she'll just talk and talk making it almost impossible for Jungkook to talk to me because he'll be busy talking to Mona.

While in the middle of her talk about Kim Seon-Ho, she looks at the text message that she received.

"Oh... sorry Ally, but I need to head back to the company right now, they need me."

"I'll go with you!" I start to get up from my chair until she stops me.

"No, don't worry about it! You can stay and both of you guys can hang out!"

Oh no...

"No, it's fine, I'll go with you!"

MONA PLEASE DON'T GO!!

And she's gone....

"Well, looks like it's just the two of us now." I look over at Jungkook and see the huge smile that he has on his face.

Could this day get any worse?...

After leaving the cafe and going to the convenience store, we were finally making our way back to the company. Thankfully, during our short time together, we haven't exchanged a lot of words, but my damn heart still continued to be stupid.

As we're walking in silence, I take notice of jungkook's sleeves and how he has them partially rolled up. Usually he has them rolled down due to his tattoos, but recently he's been a little open about them.

My eyes then couldn't help but notice his arm and hands. As I looked at it, I could see how his veins popped out and how they would be even more visible when he would clench the banana milk that he was holding. I couldn't help but freak out about them because I've always loved that about a guy and how sexy they looked.

ALLY NO!

I quickly focus my eyes elsewhere from his arm and mentally also myself.

"So I haven't seen you since the awards? What have you been up to?"

"You know just busy with coming up with new concepts and binge watching shows on Netflix. The usual..."

"You're not perhaps trying to ignore me are you?" He stops in his tracks and looks back at me. "Because you know, I wouldn't want that."

"N-no! You know how busy it's been since Dynamite and now with the preparations for the upcoming album, it's been c-crazy... "

My heart starts to race a little faster, especially since he was looking at me. I didn't want to tell him the real reason why I was ignoring him, but in a sense I was partially telling the truth. My hands start to get a little sweaty and suddenly everything feels so hot.

"Mm, I guess you're right."

Thankfully he turns around and starts walking again and suddenly I feel like I can finally breathe.

Why do I suddenly feel so nervous every single time that I see him? Why do I always get slightly excited when he smiles at me? And why does it feel like the world completely stops when he looks at me?...

Why is he making me feel like this?
