In this story momoshiki didnt attack during the chunin exams, after he saw Boruto he came to conclusion that Boruto has inherited great otsutsuki powers which has the possibility to surpass his and wanted to make him his vessel so after naruto shamed Boruto in front of konoha he went to him and transferred the karma seal into his palm. Boruto didn't knew what happened and he didnt care because his father just shamed him in front of all the people, now the only 3 things that remain in Boruto is jougan, karma and the anger. He wanted revenge, to shame his father the way he he did it to him, but how?
After the chunin exams
"Today was the worst day of my life, my father shamed me in front of all the people, then when I came back home alone some alien dude gave me a creepy ass mark on my palm, uhhh" Boruto said to himself and sighed while lying in his bed.
"I want revenge" Boruto said to himself gritting his teeth.
" But I dont have the power to beat that old man" Boruto said and sighed.
"uzumaki Boruto" Toneri called Boruto which made Boruto jump out of his bed.
" who are you?" Boruto asked
"Im Toneri otsutsuki" Toneri replied and opened the window of his room to come inside.
"Toneri?" Boruto whispered
"Uzumaki Boruto do you want power?" Toneri asked which caught Boruto's attention
"What if I say I want?" Boruto asked
"You don't have to want it after all you have it" Toneri replied while pointing his index finger to Boruto's eyes.
" What do you mean?" Boruto asked
"The Otsutsuki guy that transferred that seal on you has basically transferred all his power into you means you are a fully otsutsuki though you were before too because of your parents genes, but he also transferred his soul into you meaning he will resurrect into your body and you will die. I saw this destiny thats why i came here, to free you from karma" Toneri stated explaining everything
"huh? I will die? And karma? Boruto said cant understand what was going on.
"yes, a karma grants you the power of the otsutsuki but the given otsutsuki will resurrect in your body, thats why i came here to save you" toneri stated
" Save me? but why?" Boruto asked
"You have the eye of the God" Toneri stated
"huh?" boruto replied
" THE JOUGAN, you have that eye which is the eye of the God" Toneri stated
"The Jougan passes from one bearer to another, the previous bearer died so it was passed down from him to you, you are the chosen one, the jougan itself chose you" Toneri stated
" But to awaken it, you need special training which only i can provide" Toneri stated
"Uzumaki Boruto, make your decision, to live here or come with me to the moon to train" Toneri stated with a serious face
It was a hard decision to make, after learning everything about his power, he decided to stay here because he has his precious friends here but....
"I will go with you" Boruto stated with a serious face.
Boruto still remembered his friends' disappointed faces, the way they were looking at him out of pity, the way villagers calling him a failure as a konoha shinobi, the way his father shamed him infront of everyone. The anger was enough to make this decision.
"But it wont makes sense just disappearing out of the blue" Boruto asked
"Leave it to me, now just prepare to head off to moon" Toneri said
" YEAH...." boruto replied with a doubtful expression
