FRIENDS

“Tara na! Mag-swimming na tayo!”

At ayon na nga ang excitement ng dalawang kaibigan ni Crystal.

Dala dala ko na ang tuwalya ng tatlong magkakaibigan, dala naman nila ang mga kakainin at iinumin namin.

“Diamond, ako na magbubuhat niyang dala mo.” sabi ko kay Crystal at akma namang aabutin ang tote bag niya na hawak niya.

“Magbubuhat because?”

“Anong because? Let me carry it for you.”

“Let you carry because?”

“Stop using that word.” I told her with a slightly mad tone.

“Why, CJ? Itʼs a trend duh.” she explained.

“Fuck that trend. If I want you to stop, then stop.” I seriously said. Inilapit ko ang mukha ko sa kaniya para magtigil siya sa kakasalita.

“You want me to stop because?” she asked with that word again.

“Arenʼt you going to follow your masterʼs command?” I asked, raising my right brow and stole a kiss from her. It was a bit too deep, to the point that we both cherished every second our lips pressed.

Where just sitting in the beach sand. Her friends were still inside the hotel.

We kissed under the sun. The most beautiful thing happened on my life. Her lips tasted like how it was before. Itʼs just softer than ever. Every time our lips part, I get the courage to press it again... Again and again. I donʼt ever wanna stop on tasting those cherry like lips.

“CJ, friends donʼt kiss in the lips.” she said as she push me away from her body.

“Weʼre not friends.”

“Is our friendship over?”

“I canʼt be friends with you because I want you to be mine, officially, romantically and wholly.”

“Weʼre friends Calvin, I canʼt understand you...” she whispered.

“Why did you call me Calvin? You usually call me CJ.”

“Canʼt I?” she raised voice on me.

“You should not.”

We both felt so awkward with each other. Nag-iwas kami ng tingin sa isaʼt isa. Hindi na ako komportableng ganito. ʼYung okay ako at kasama ko siya pero nag-iiba ang mood ko dahil iba ang pakikitungo at iba ang turing niya sa akin.

“Hey guys!”

Napalingon naman ako sa likod namin. Sa pinanggalingan ng boses. Sila Liana at Bliss na iyon, sigurado ako.

Dali-daling pinatong nila Bliss ang bitbit nila kanina sa lamesang katabi ko nang dumating sila.

“Letʼs swim, Crystal!” Napatayo si Crystal nang hilahin siya patayo ni Liana. Dire diretso lang silang tumakbo patungo sa dagat.

Crystal took off her blazer that covers her skin. Bumungad sa akin ang suot niyang black piece paired with her high-waisted shorts.

“Calvin, hindi ka magsiswimming?” tanong naman ni Bliss na tinanggal na rin ang blazer.

“Nah, Iʼll be fine.” sabi ko na lang.

“Hmm, look for our things ʼkay?” tanong niya kaya tumango na lang ako.

Naupo na lang ako sa pwesto ko at sinuot ang shades na nakasabit sa suot kong beach-themed polo shirt.

Pinanood ko na lang ang bawat pagwisik ng magkakaibigan sa isaʼt isa. They were happily splashing into little waves. They seemed to be enjoying and energetic. I heard their voices from not so afar. Laughing, talking, and a little quantity of silence. After splashing, they dive into the water.
