⚘Chapter-Thirty Five⚘

Start from the beginning

He turned around with a look of disappointment on his face. "She's looking for a new lawer?" He asked.

"Yes she is, so as I was saying. There's no need for you to worry or wait for her." Layla finished.

Not missing the look of disappointment. Could there be any hope? She asked herself. As he came back and sat down.

"That's not what I'm here for." He told her. Covering his face with his palm stopping to pull at his bottom lip.

"You're not?" She asked, with a little ray of hope.

"No of course not." He answered sharply, quickly remembering who he was talking to. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to..."

"Well why are you here then?" She asked. The more she wanted to avoid beating around the bush the more it was heading that way. She had stop to it.

"I've come to persuade Sanem to give us a chance." He told her.

"Oh thank God." Standing up, Layla raised her hands above her head.

"Are you ok?" He asked rushing to her side.

"More then ever." She said. "I'm thankful one of you is thinking clearly." She told him with a smile.

"I'm sorry I don't understand. I thought..." He started.

"Well you thought wrong." She sighed with relief.

"What's this about Sanem looking for a new lawer?" He asked

"She e-mailed the other lawer but he hasn't got back to her. She said she was going to find a new one." Layla explained.

"Oh God...it's my friend." Seeing Laylas eyebrows knit together in confusion. He quickly explained. "The lawer, I asked him to delay putting in the petition for the divorce. That why he hasn't replied to her e-mail."

"Well thank God you've come. So you can sort out this whole mess." She told him.

"Hmm..." He shook his head.

"What!!!" She exclaimed.

"I don't think it's going to be that easy."He told her scratching his head.

"Your going to persuaded her...right." She asked, biting her lower lip.

"Of course I'm going to try. I'll do anything...everything I can." He paused. "However my doing everything and Sanem agreeing to us would depend on her. She can be very stubborne."

"That I know." Layla looked at him as she asked. "Do you love her?"

"Of course I do. I love her very much." He told her.

"Then why did you both agree to the divorce." She said shaking her head.

"Look it's complicated you'd have to ask Sanem. But before you ask...Yes... yes she loves me too." He told her.

There was no way he was going to tell her that Sanem had not told him she loved him that was sure to complicated things even futher.

"Good...good Then we have a win win situation." Layla said beaming with a smile. "Now why dont i make you a cup of tea and you could tell me a little about youself and your family." Layla told him.

They spent the rest of the afternoon talking. Can told her about his family, about where they lived. By the time Emre came home Layla had made up her mind about Can. He was the perfect choice for her sister.

With that thought Layla was walking on air. At last her baby sister would get the happiness she so totally deserved. Now it was only a matter of her returning home and Can convincing her.

When Sanem had left for the party she hadn't been looking for a husband, and neither he a wife. Fate had bought them together on that night nearly four years ago. And every meeting after that. It seemed it was their destiny to be together. Even the stubbornness of her sister won't be able to keep then apart. Whatever's meant to be will be, and no force could separate.

Sanem sighed, it had been a long day, long but worth it. Zehra has been so good. The only thing was she hadn't bought her pushchair so her arms were aching. Next time she would listen to her Abla who had insisted she take the damn thing but Sanem was also intent on not taking it. She didn't want to be lugging the thing around. Who knew she would be in this state by the end of the day. Especally as Zehra had decided to nap in the afternoon.

Now thankfully they were on their way home. Just a few more stops then she would catch a cab home. Layla had told her to take her car but Sanem again had refused. One day her stubbornness was sure to get the better of her.

From the moment they had got into the cab Zehra had been sleepy. Sanem tried to keep her awake until they got home. The cab had just parked up at the house when Zehra asked her aunt to sing her a song.

"Teze sing song." She insisted.

"Baby were out side the house. Come I'll sing inside."

"No teze now." Zehra told her.

The little girl reminded her so much of herself and Sanem knew she was tired out and would have a tantrum out side the door, after being good all day. Not wanting to spoil her mood. Sanem picked her up and stared singing one of her favourite songs. Zehra resed her head on Sanems chest.

"Wise men say only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love with you." She started. Finding her keys she continued singing.

"Should I stay?" She sang as she entered The house. "Would it be a sin?." Walking towards the living room. "If I can't help...." She entered the room looking at a now asleep Zehra in her arms, singing the final few words of the first verse. "Falling in love with you." She finished. looking up she was shocked to find what she had been dreading since Ayhan had relayed his message. Can sitting in the living room with her Abla and Abi.
