Stephanie sliced the carrots for the fried rice while her aunt sat in the kitchen with her. Since she got back yesterday, everyone automatically thought she's going through a rejection phase, no one even thought it could be her so called best friend.

"I'm no longer friends with Kimberly, I'm deleting every picture of us together and I'm throwing away every damn frames we have together" She broke the silence and she watched her aunt look shocked.

"Wait, so it's Kimberly that's making you cry, I even thought it's that boy you're always talking to around 2am. What happened exactly?" Her aunt asked and she took a deep breath. She doesn't even know how she would explain the matter and leave Tolu's part anonymous.

"So I went to visit someone and when I got there, I started feeling somehow. I shaa told the person to drop me off in her house and the person dropped me off. When I got there, she asked me a stupid question and i told her that she needed to stop judging me at every given opportunity because I don't do that and the next thing she said was that I love playing pity card like I'm the only person who's mother committed suicide and whose father doesn't even want. She really said that to my fucking face" Stephanie replied in tears and she wiped them hurriedly but the tears won't stop.

Demi's mom rubbed her back and she hugged her tight. Everyone close to her knew how sore that topic was to her, she hated to talk about it just like she hated to talk about her father or her Korea origin. She hated the way everyone looks at her like she had some kind of perfect life and she's super happy.

"Ilerioluwa, you want to know why your mum named you that? She named you that because you're the promise of God to her. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for. Your mother committed suicide because her in-laws made her life hell, her only crime was being a Nigerian. She wasn't at fault because no one could handle your legally married husband taking another wife because of his inheritance.

One thing I know for sure is that your father loves you more than anyone. Last year when you had an accident and you didn't open your eyes until after two weeks, He came and he was worried, that Get Well frame at the top of your wardrobe that you say you love, he got you that personally. He has been sending you money monthly through me and if he doesn't you want you, he won't do all that. Stephanie, do not let anyone bring you down okay?" Stephanie nodded at her aunt's words and she hugged the older woman tight.

When she was seven, she watched her mom take her own life with her skipping rope and since then things changed for her, Her father sent her back to Nigeria and he refused to pick her calls till she stopped calling. She was shocked to see his wedding in the newspaper and it felt like a huge betrayal to her mom. She decided to lock that part of her away.

"Be my girlfriend" Femi just popped out of the blue and Katerina's breath hitched. She closed her eyes while holding the phone to her ear and she didn't say a word. Femi thought she didn't hear at first so he asked again and this time she ended the call.

She threw the phone on the bed and she went in search of Fade. She met Fade in the laundry room talking to Demi and they were arguing on something. She said goodbye before hanging up and she turned to Kate.

"What happen to this one that you're looking like you saw a ghost?" Fade asked and Kate took a deep breath. "Femiaskedmeoutandipanickedandhungup" She rambled and Fade stared at her like she was speaking Chinese. She decided to repeat herself and this time slowly.

"Femi asked me out and I panicked and i hung up on him" Kate replied and Fade screamed before jumping down from where she sat down. She waved her hands in the air excitedly and she stopped jumping when she noticed how Kate was looking at her.

"You love this boy, call him back and say Yes. Then we will have the best couple in EC. Guy you've always wanted this to happen and it did so be happy" Fade gushed and Kate shook her head before walking back upstairs. She was expecting Fade to discourage or tell her she did the right thing but it seems Femi had charmed her too.

Fade picked up her phone back and she dialed Demi's number to continue their argument on who's better between Tokyo and Nairobi.

"Demi, I want to tell you something really urgent. I don't know how you're going to take this but I feel like I'm doing something right" Stephanie said and Demi dropped the game pad and he turned to her. He could see that whatever she wanted to say was troubling her and she needed to get it off her chest.

"Me and Tolu Fadeyi are kinda dating and I really like him so that's why I'm telling you because I know you two's history and I don't want to be in the middle. I tried to stop liking him but i can't for real" She breathed out and she watched Demi's reaction.

"Look Baby girl, you don't have to ask for my permission before you do whatever you like. If dating Tolu Fadeyi makes you happy then do it moreover me and Tolu are cool now, he already apologized. Just make sure you don't get hurt okay" he said before hugging her tight and she smiled. She felt as if a huge load has been lifted off her shoulder and she wanted to scream out loud.

She walked back to her room and she picked up her phone to meet a message from Tolu Fadeyi.

"My Queen, I want you to be my girlfriend and I really love you. I've thought about it and I feel like me trying to force you to tell everyone about us is really selfish of me and i apologise for even thinking about it. I'm satisfied if you decide to keep our relationship secret, just be my girlfriend. I love you too much to let you go"

She smiled before typing back a fast reply, no need to hide their relationship anymore,she was going to scream it out loud to the whole world.
