"so how are you b?" He asked with a ghost smile on his lips and she sighed. She couldn't even tell him she was fine because he won't listen. He wanted to know what's wrong with her and where it hurts most.

The first time he visited her, he let her cry freely in his shoulder without even caring about anything in the world. He had been the first to come visit and since then he came again once and he's here now.

"Senior Demi, I don't even know for real" She replied after a while and he took her hand. He rubbed it in a soothing manner and she took a sharp breath. She wanted to pull her hand away from his but she couldn't.

"Fadekemi, it's okay if you're tired. It's totally understandable if you feel worthless or if you make yourself feel guilty of not being able to stand up for your mum or your sister. I just want you to know that she's in a better place and she won't have to go through what you're going through. Remember you always want the best for her, think of her as an angel that the lord lent your for a while. She's needed back in heaven that's why he took her. Things don't happen without a reason. You're stronger than whatever you're going through and whatever the lord throws at you is to prepare you for what's to come" He removed his handkerchief and he wiped her face with it.

"Why... Why did it have to be her?... Morenike is innocent of all this, she's always smiling. I accepted whatever my father did because I had hope that i will provide a better future for us and it's going to be me and her forever" She whispered fiercely while crying hard.

He pulled her closer and no one said a word after that, everyone with their own thoughts. She was dozing off already when Kate ran to their side screaming. Fade jumped up and she let Kate pull her to main building with Demi trailing behind them.

"Who's Fadekemi?" A nurse asked and Fade raised her hand, the woman beckoned her to come and she followed. The wiman led her inside a ward that her mother was lying on the bed and she shook her head slowly so she won't cry.

Different wires were connected to her body and Fade felt like crying. "she's awake and she wants to talk to you, please don't say anything triggering to her and don't mention your sister at all" the nurse whispered to her before gently pushing Fade forward.

"Maami" Fade whispered and her mum turned her head to look at her. Fade rushed to her side and touched her face carefully while trying not to touch the wires connected to her body.

"Fadekemi" Her mom smiled at her and she could see how much pain the woman was in due to the smile. She wanted to erase those pains and bring back their little family.

"I know you must probably hate me now considering how many times you've said we should run away. I'm sorry for making you go through all that. I know I've been a shitty mother and i wish I could amend things but it's too late.

I saw morenikeji yesterday, she was waiting for me across the border and she didn't want to leave me behind. Ajoke, remember to forgive your father. He didn't mean to ruin all of us like this, his anger just got the best of him.

I know my morenikeji is gone and you know it too. I've forgiven your father and if I come back to this life, i will be careful before choosing a spouse. Fade, when I'm gone, remember not to cry too much and remember I'm going to be in a better place too. Safe from your father's beatings and everything.

Fade just promise me you will forgive your father. Shogbo?" Her mom asked softly and Fade didn't know where the tears came from. Even in so much pains, her mother wanted to make sure she forgives the monster that ruined them all.

"Maami, you won't die now. I promise you I've forgiven him with all my heart. Please don't leave me in this wicked world. Maami please" Fade begged with tears in her eyes and her mom shook her head. The woman had a fufilled smile on her face and Fade kept on begging while crying.

The woman shook her head slowly and Fadekemi cried harder. She wanted to ease her mom of all this pains and everything. She wanted to bring back morenikeji and make their little family complete again.

The machines started beeping loudly and soon the doctors rushed inside leading Fade outside while she tried to comprehend what's going on. She kept on trying to look over the doctor's shoulder but he was pushing her out of the ward.

"Get me a reliable guardian or an adult we can talk to now" He bellowed at Fade before rushing back inside the ward. Demi held Fade tight while she thrashed around trying to go inside the ward where different doctors kept on coming out and going in, all rushing.

Kate dialled her stepmom's number when her father didn't pick and she said she Wass going to be there in five minutes. Kate held Fade's hand and she tried to calm her down that everything will be fine.

Kate's stepmom came rushing towards them soon and when she got to them, she asked of the doctor. As if on cue, The doctors walked out and Demi tried to take Fade out of the waiting room. Her stepmom walked towards him and Fade heard her shout.

"What do you mean you lost her?"
