The aroma of roasted barley wafted in the sea breeze, mingling with the salty air to form the most tantalizing fragrance.
The elderly woman leaned over to check on the pot's contents over the open fire and heated rocks, before giving an approving smile.

"That smells very delicious. Shall we try some?" Geum Hee asked, to which Yejin nodded in agreement, keeping her eyes locked onto the deliciously browning grains.
Cautiously, the two women ladled a small portion of the hot barley into a granite mortar, before the elderly lady brought a pestle to it, pounding and pressing the grains into tiny chips which were subsequently transferred to wooden bowls.
Boiling water was poured over the chips, and it wasn't long before the two women were taking cautious sips of barley tea.
The warm liquid was a rush of much-needed comfort in the chilly spring breeze, and the princess found herself turning towards the older woman with widened eyes.

"This is so delicious." She exclaimed in an awed whisper, before the two of them burst into chuckles at seeing Yejin's amazement.
"It's good, isn't it? You see, my child," Geum Hee replied, frying the grains continuously. "Food, or anything else in life, is always nicer when you've worked hard for it."
