Boys' life of Despair (Chapter 2 part 8)

Start from the beginning

Makoto: I...might know one reason he could be involved...

Aoi: What!?

Makoto: I found this file while I was looking around the archive in the library. I guess it's some kind of confidential file the police put together about the genocide Jack case.

Asu: I remeber hearing about it. When I heard Togami mentionned it I hoped that it would might be there. I looked at it a bit, but somehow I don't think it's Genocide Jack...

Mondo: Why would you read that! And what was something like that doing in the library?

Togami: The why of it is probably more trouble than it's worth, so let's forget about that for now. More importantly, it outlines all the specifics of every Genocide Jack case in exceeding detail. According to the file, there appear to be two defining characteristics in every Genocide Jack case. The first is that a bloody message is found written at the scene of every murder.

Hifumi: Oh, that's right! "Booblust"!

Aoi: Uh, no... it's actually "Bloodlust"...

Togami: But more important is the other characteristic. And it's something that has never been made public...

Mondo: Never made public...? What the hell is it?

Togami: Why don't you tell them, Makoto?

Makoto: Apparently, in every  Genocide Jack case, the killer suspends the body in a certain way. Other than the killer, the only people who know about this are the higher-ups in the police departement.

Togami: However, Chihiro was most definitely suspended in the same way. So, how did the culprit know about this, when only high-level police officials were aware of it? There's only one logical answer I can think of. It's because the culprit in this case... is the real Genocide Jack.

Mondo: No fuckin' way!

Celeste: You're saying Genocide Jack... is one of us?

Togami: Yes. In fact, it's Toko.

Toko: Wh...

Togami: Genocide Jack's true identity... is Toko Fukawa.

Hifumi: YOU LIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Toko: Wh-Wh-What?

Aoi: Hey, okay, wait, hold on a sec! Toko has like, bloodphobia or whatever, remember? What kind of serial killer is afraid of blood!?

Togami: Is Toko Genocide Jack? The answer is yes... and no.

Yasuhiro: Another riddle? Man, why's this gotta be so complicated?

I figured out the answer to the riddle quick enough. After I had seen Toko's reaction when she was in her room, I guessed it was what you call a split personnality. In Toko's case the shock of blood is what makes the transition netween the two of them.

Makoto: Is it because Genocide Jack... has split personality?

Aoi: Huh?

Makoto: I think I read somewhere in the file, too... They thought that suspect might have... what did they call it? "Dissociative Identity disorder".

Mondo: Uh? What's that.

Asu: It's a disorder which the patient has multiple personnalities. Many thing can provoke the switch between these. They usually don't keep up with each other, but you could also say they are alter egos in one person.
