What's more dangerous than excavating a dungeon alone? More treacherous than stealing gold from a dragon's horde? Even more terrifying than fist fighting a child of war!? I'd say, the public school system.

Not even my first dungeon made me this nervous. Maybe if I was lucky I could manage to avoid seeing Aden or Ellie. I looked down at my hoodie. What was that crap Rushon was saying? Don't let her become the event? I sighed, and then let it turn into a groan. This was gonna be a long day... I followed in line with the horde of people that were swarming into the school. I wonder if I was being fair to those two? I just tried to ignore it. I'll just deal with it when I have to I guess.

As they said my name in roll call for my first class, my teacher's eyes immediately grew in utter shock. She looked at me like I was some kind of ghost. Oh yeah, the last time I was here I was being chased by a deranged psychopath. And my blood was scattered all over the place too...Huh, I probably look like a living zombie to her right now. She sent me to the principal's office, and once I arrived I was greeted by two officers and my principal.

"Hello, Mr.Stark so glad to see you made it back okay!" My principal cheered.

My principal was a rather round fellow with a balding head and a chocolate complexion. Most people liked him, he was a pretty relaxed guy. However I have managed to get on his bad side a couple of times. Making a glitter bomb for the goth kids, filling the jock's uniforms with itching powder, and replacing the art club's paints with cafeteria condiments. In my defense, they all had it coming for messing with Gaming club.

"I know the situation has caused you some serious grief. But the officers here had a few questions for you."

I had to hold myself back from smirking. I was actually pretty curious about this. First, I needed to know what they knew.

"Hey, before any of the questions can you tell me if Ellie is okay!? I've been worried sick about her! And did the creep get caught!?"

"Easy, easy kid." One of the officers said as they stepped forward.

"Please, things are still fuzzy. And I've been feeling like I've been losing my mind. Can you just tell me that she's okay!?"

"Yes, Ms.Quarts is just fine." The principal spoke up. "But as for the assailant, we have not located him."

The principal is always the easy one to fool.I growled and punched my chair as I sat down.

"And you guys! Where were you when I was in the hospital!"The cops looked between each other as I looked at them with frustration. "Maybe if you would've gotten an earlier statement from me then. Maybe I could of.."

I gave a dramatic pause and looked down.

"That's part of the reason were here today. We heard your mother took care of fixing you up?"

Huh, guess that means I don't have to worry about a doctor's statement.

"Yes, I don't know the details though. But she's super against hospitals. My father clearly wasn't happy about that." I sighed.

"I see, would you mind telling us what happened from the last thing you remember."

"Well, I don't really know. Things started going black once I got out from the bleachers. And the next thing I know, I was at my mom's place." I looked up at them. "Sorry I'm no help. She's not a fan of modern stuff. She lives kind of off the grid."

"I see, would she happen to have a number?" One officer asked.

"Sorry, you're better off asking my father for that."

"Well how about an address?" The other asked.

"I'll have to see if she'll let me back over. I hope you don't mind. But, were not really close. I don't think she wants me back over anytime soon. She says I'm starting to remind her of my father..." I mumbled as I looked away.
