“I’ll kill them if they touch Toz.” I huffed as we continued our trek through the woods.

“And that’s why I told her to head back to my place.” Clover sighed.

“Honestly, how do you deal with these overgrown weeds!?”

“Well, they’re still family, even if we disagree…”

“Yeah, tell that to the mom who threw me into the Lion's den. I hate her, and everyone of those stupid elves…”

She didn’t say anything after that. I glanced over at her, and she was chewing on her lip with her head down.

“I’m hoping that maybe with the priestess’s help we can change the elves.” She mumbled.

“Sorry to burst your bubble, but I doubt the soon to be queen is any different.”

“You don’t know that!" She huffed.

“Think about it. The elves keep to themselves and hold onto traditional values. The likelihood this priestess hasn’t already been indoctrinated is highly unlikely. I mean think about why she asked to meet me. I’m literally sideshow to them.”

“Don’t judge her till you meet her, you might be surprised.” She giggled.

Is she just being optimistic? Or is she saying this because she met her? And if that’s the case, there is a chance her optimism is clouding her reasoning. I looked over to her confident smile and felt unsettled. She was really sure of herself…

As much as I hated these long eared pricks, they sure did know how to make a village! It was everything I ever dreamed of. The treetops were an array of different bright colors. While the falling leaves mixed together and bathed the area in a beautiful rainbow of shades. Built into each tree was a convoluted system of bridges and wooden buildings. What surprised me though was how some of the buildings were built. The trees themselves were built into a dome shape, making some of the buildings.

I was trying hard to not be impressed. But this was exactly what Ellie and I drew up to make one day. I gave her the ideas and she would draw them out. I took my phone out and snapped a picture. I wonder if she’ll still see the color of the leaves, or will that change in her human perspective too?

“This place is really pretty right!?” Clover cheered.

“I have to admit, it really is.”

“Oh! Before we leave I have to show you the apple orchard!” She cheerfully squeaked.

People from all around were waving and calling out to her. And Clover just gave them a smile and waved back. She was really popular, I bet if they recognized me they be taking-

“It’s the son of Gaea!” I stopped walking as a little kid ran up to me.

Before I could even react, this kid held up some Yellow gemstone at me, and it flashed this blinding light. I charged my hands and got ready to shoot. But the heat inside me slowly began to fade as my vision came back. I saw a yellow hologram of my surprised face shining above the stone. Did, did he just take a picture of me?

“Hey!” I yelled.

The kid giggled and put the stone on a metal band on his arm, then he quickly turned and ran off.

“It’s him!”

“The son of Gaea!”

“Oh he’s real!”

“I want a picture!”

And within seconds, swarms of elves were surrounding me. I cringed as bright light after bright light flashed. Everyone was crowding around me. Children, women, old men. Every kind of elf was crowded around me. I never once felt so compelled to drop kick a child. Their laughter filled my ears, and flashes of my mom and sister came into my mind. All the faces of her elf army looking at me with their smug faces.
