Bel’s POV
Pabalik-balik lang ang tingin ko kina Luhan at Xyl. Magkatabi sila pero parang walang ganang kumain at akala mo’y mga namatayan. Their eyes were swollen. Umiyak siguro silang pareho. I think Xyl made her decision.
“Ya, pasok na po ako.” Matamlay niyang sagot saka tumayo. Hindi na siya nagdadrive ngayon at sinusundo na ni Khier. She said they were having their group meeting kaya si Khier na ang magsusundo. He even gave her car keys to Tao. Tumayo ako’t sinundan siya. Palabas na sana siya ng pinto pero pinigilan ko siya.
“Xyl… andito lang ako. Kung masakit, inuman mo ng gamot. Wag mong hayaang lumala.” She mouthed ‘thank you’ and smiled half saka na tuluyang lumabas. Bumuntong hininga ako. ‘Love is too powerful… it can drive someone crazy, can make someone happy, but can break someone instantly…’
Xyla’s POV
Nakatingin lang ako sa bintana ng kotse.
“Xand, there are lots who said, its taste and price were, best… What do you think ab---Xand, are you listening?” I can hear her but can’t focus.
“Just don’t mind her nerd and continue. I’m listening.” I heard creature said but I ignore them both. I need to be happy… I need too. I need to even I’m not.
“We should get the best in thesis. Baguio is waiting for us.” I said and smiled forcely. Malamig don. Malayo niyo makalimot ako dun di ba? Kasi, gusto kong makalimot. I looked at both of them and they were so serious.
“Hey, aren’t you excited?”
“Who would be if you’re smiling like that? Don’t smile if you’re not happy.” Creature said.
“I am happy. See, I’m smiling so I’m happy.” Masaya kong sabi habang patuloy na nakangiti.
“Not all smiles are happy. There are times that everyone needs to smile just to hide the pain.” Nawala yung ngiti ko. Sapul ako don. Tuhog na tuhog mula ulo hanggang puso. Napatingin nalang tuloy ako ulit sa bintana.
“What do you want?” Napaharap ako kay creature na sa daan lang nakatingin. I smiled.
“I want peace, peace and peace!” Tinutok ko sa mukha niya yung kamay ko na nakapeace sign.
