"Où est-il?"

Hindi ko na napigilan ang pagtanong sa lalaki. Mukhang hindi niya rin alam kaya naman kinabahan na ako. I asked one of the divers who accompanied us only to find out that Darius went further to snorkel.

"Why did you let him?!" hindi ko na napigilan ang takot ko lalo na't nang halos sampung minuto ay hindi pa rin siya bumabalik sa bangka. "Why didn't you follow him?!"

"He said that he would dive further deep because he lost something." pagpapaliwanag ng lalaki na mukhang natakot sa akin. "I'm sure he'll be back, Madame. He's a certified diver so he—"

"But that doesn't guarantee his safety!"

I tried calming down especially when the twins glanced at me, probably confused as to why I was panicking. Dahil sa nangyari ay sinuot ko ulit ang snorkeling gear at muling tumalon sa dagat.

"Mommy will be back, okay? I will just go to Papa." ngumiti pa ako sa mga anak ko para hindi sila mag-alala sa sitwasyon. "It will only just take a few minutes, okay? Wait for Mommy here."

They both nodded so I smiled to reassure them. Sinamahan ako ng isa sa mga professional divers para maghanap kay Darius. We went towards different spots to find him but he's still not there. Imposible namang makalayo siya ng gano'n lang?

It has been ten minutes and Darius hasn't been found. The guy even went to call for help to other divers to look for him but it will take more minutes for them to come to the area. Hindi ko na napigilan ang pagkataranta ko.

My gaze went to the horizon of the blue vast ocean to see some movement but there's nothing. Hindi nagtagal ay hindi ko na napigilan ang luha ko dahil sa nangyari. I was sobbing already, afraid that something bad had happened to him. I was even thinking of worst, like he was eaten by sharks or he already drowned.

Hindi malaman ng kasama kong lalaki ang gagawin dahil sa pag-iyak ko. We were a bit far from the boat because we're searching for him. Mabuti na lang at hindi ako nakikita ng mga anak ko ngayon kung hindi baka pati sila ay umiyak din.

The thought of losing someone affect me so much. I tried calming myself but I ended up hyperventilating. Hindi pa nakatulong na umiyak ako kay mas lalo akong nahirapang huminga.

I just want to see him, please. I don't want to lose him. 

I was about to dive again when I felt an arm snaked on my waist. Bago pa ako makareact ay nakita ko na si Darius. He was smiling a bit when he saw me, natigil lang iyon nang makita niya ang mukha ko. 

"Why are you crying?" his soothing low voice filled my ear as he wiped the tears on my eyes.

Umigting ang panga ko at mas lalong umiyak. Hinampas hampas ko siya sa sobrang inis ko. I was so frustrated that I can't stop my tears. Sobrang nagagalit ako at gusto ko siyang saktan nang paulit-ulit.

Hinayaan niya ako sa ginagawa ko. I was fuming mad that I shouted so many French curse words at him. Paniguradong pulang pula na ang mukha ko dahil sa nangyari. Nang mapagod ako ay hinatak niya ako para yakapin. I kept on sobbing as he caressed my hair gently.

"Hindi ka na bumalik! Akala ko namatay ka na!" I shouted. 

"I'm sorry..."

"Hindi ka man lang nagsabi! Ano na lang sasabihin ko sa mga anak natin habang wala ka! You promised that you never leave! You promised, Darius! Tapos biglang ganito?!"

"Shh, I'll never leave..." inalo niya ako. "I'm sorry..."

"I thought you were gone! I thought something happened to you! I thought—" I sobbed again. "I thought...you're dead..."
