Mabilis umaksyon ang mga tauhan ng Velarde, iyon ang napatunayan ko matapos ng gabing iyon. No wonder they remained on top, aside from having a lot of properties and successful companies, their security were quite...extreme.

They can easily know and get the person they wanted. Kung may magtangka man sa buhay nila ay agad na malalaman at mahuhuli nila iyon. They were that powerful that it's scary. 

"Mom, how are you?" I called my Mom after what happened last night.

"I'm fine. How about you?"

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag  dahil doon. I just want her to be safe. Kung may nagtatangka man ng buhay ko ay ayokong madawit si Mommy.

"Fine, Mommy. I missed you so much."

"Missed you too, sweetie."

I call my Mom often to check on her. Minsan nga nagtataka siya kung bakit parang dumami ang tauhan na nakabantay sa mansyon. Probably Darius ordered it, I requested him protection for my Mommy after all.

"Yes, I will send it to your address. Thank you." I ended the call.

Madami na akong naipon sa mga commissions ko. Having the chance to design Janice Vermundo's gown was a way to get more interested clients. Their family is powerful after all. Her being an influential person made my career boost in such a short span. Maging ang iilang kilalang mga anak ng mayayamang tycoon ay nagpapadisenyo sa akin.

"Mr. Montero, pakideliver na lang po sa exact address." I said as I handed him the set of gowns I designed these past few weeks.

He nodded. "Will do, Mrs. Velarde."

"Any updates regarding the investigation?"

"It is still on-going, Ma'am. The only thing that we got is the case was indeed fabricated and we are still looking for a possible lead."

Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko nang marinig iyon. I knew it.

"The drunk French man accused for the murder was also shot the night Mr. Bordeaux was killed." pagpapaliwanag niya. "So far, we are now looking for witnesses. I will keep you updated, Ma'am."

"Can you also have Danfields Apparel's investigated? Also the conglomerates under Bordeaux's winery?"

"By all means, Mrs. Velarde." he nodded before heading outside my office.

Iyon lang naman ang naiisip kong mga posibleng may gawa no'n. May galit sa akin ang Danfields' at alam kong may gusto ring magpabagsak sa winery ni Daddy. Although the debt is paid I have no idea why I was still being targeted.

"Pasensya na talaga, Ma'am. Sa susunod na Linggo pa ako makakabalik." nalulungkot na sabi ni Ate Riza.

"Ayos lang po. Ako na pong bahala." 

"Sigurado po ba kayo, Ma'am? Ayos lang po ba kayo rito?" dagdag ni Ate Pola. 

Tumango ako at ngumiti. "Napag-usapan na rin naman namin 'to ni Darius kaya ayos lang. Enjoy kayo sa bakasyon niyo." 

Niyakap ko sila bago sila tuluyang umalis ng bahay. I was the one who told Darius to give them a short vacation. Alam ko namang nababagot na rin sila sa bahay at kailangan rin kasi may sakit ang anak ni Ate Pola at birthday naman ng asawa ni Ate Riza. Si Chef Rio ay pinagbakasyon ko rin kahit noon una ay tutol siya.

"H'wag kang mag-alala, ako na bahala magluto." pampalubag loob ko.

Napabuntong hininga siya. "Sigurado po kayo, Ma'am? Medyo mapili si Sir Darius sa mga pagkain."
