I was nervous, of course I was, I hadn't seen Mel in almost half year now, Mom and Dad did not come with me to pick Mel up, they didn't wanna make it 'awkward'. I had no idea why it would be weird, we were just sisters who kinda lost the connection they had before,

Things had been bad for me, I had lost my appetite, I was really sad, I watched almost all rom-coms, The new single was out, but I hadn't listened to it, Dan had tried to reach out to me, apparently he hadn't told them of the entire thing, Pete and Noah had already tried, but now I had to ghost them too, Lee hadn't tried to reach me, He asked Chan how I was doing though.

Mel appeared from the door, She saw me and smiled,

gosh, I missed her.

I hugged her tightly, trying to communicate my feeling through it, She breathed me in as I broke free.

"Aww, You've grown.", She said softly patting my head.

I rolled my eyes, putting a smile on.

A Fair, Tall guy appeared from behind, He had soft almond eyes, light brown. I stared in belief. I know I was gaping like a fish, the guys was familiar somehow,

"This is,", Mel broke my attention "Jinn,", She finished,

Jinn, that's why the name, face seemed so familiar, he was the guy Mel was dating. She had showed me a picture once, but he was much more gorgeous in reality. He shyly approached and held out his hand, I shook it.

"Hi, I am Jinn.", He had a deep raspy voice,

Mel interlinked her hand through his and smiled up to him.

"Hey, I am Nia.", I said, A pang of jealousy hit me as I took them in. I suddenly got why mom and Dad thought It would be awkward.

"so, then Ms. Hendra suggested that I take the job, so I did.", Mel said

"She always comes up with the best ideas.", Jinn mused.

Mom and Dad were swooning over Jinn, Mom even pulled me aside and tried to make me ask jinn if he had any brothers.

They had stopped pushing me about Lee after They noticed how upset I got.

Mel stopped by my Room at night, Jinn had gone to a hotel nearby, She entered silently,

"So, met any guys recently?" she asked her eyes glowing at the thought of gossip, I laughed out,

"Nope,", I replied simply, ignoring the dominating wave of betrayal,

"No No, It cannot be I smelt heartbreak from the plane, You look as if you might be sick.", she stated, her eyes were concerned.

I wanted to tell her desperately, Maybe telling someone will give me the closure I require.

"No one, Really tired.", I stated.

"Prom is next week right?", She asked.

"Yup."

"We are going Prom Dress shopping Tomorrow, then."

"Prom Dresses! They are the best, You can get them in literally any color you want.", Hailey squealed

Mel chuckled, Hailey held a dark red dress in front of her and smiled, I knew the smile, It was the This-is-the-one smile. Chantelle walked out with a mid length yellow dress on, She looked angelic. With her half-Korean Lara-jean like face and dark straight hair, it contrasted perfectly.

"Chan..", Hails awed.

I shared the sentiment. Mel stood up from besides me and went to a isle of dresses.

"You look stunning", Mel gasped.

She returned with a stunning light blue dress that glittered when moved, the shape was flattering and perfect for my body, Mel looked at me expectantly. I touched it, It felt lovely, A prom dress and a prom night. Distractions, wasn't I looking for them? I took it from her, Prom was in a week, enough to get the hell over him, So be it,

I was going to prom.
