"We should leave now. That way we'll get there a bit early." Brian suggests. "Bri, relax. We'll be fine. This is going to be fine." I reassure him. "Don't tell me to relax, y/n/n. How am I going to spend the rest of my life with you if your parents don't like me?" He asks. I walk over to him, embracing him in a hug. "They're going to love you, Bri." I say through a muffled laugh as my head was buried in his stomach.

As we arrive to my parents home, Brian stayed seated in the car. "Brian, come on." I exclaim. He sighs before following me inside. "Mom? Dad? We're here!" I announce. I watch as they peer around the corner, walking right past me and immediately embracing Brian in a hug. "Come sit. Lunch is already at the table." My mom exclaims, ushering is over. I sat across Brian who sat in between my mom and dad. "Brian, it's so lovely to meet you. We've heard so much about you." My mom exclaims. "It's wonderful to meet you both as well." Brian smiles. "So, Brian, you're studying biophysics?" My mom asks. "Astrophysics, actually." Brian corrects. "Oh. So he's smart and handsome. Y/n's a lucky girl." My mom chuckles. "Mom!" I exclaim, my face turning red. "Thank you." Brian chuckles awkwardly. I relax in my seat, relieved that they hadn't scared Brian off yet. "You play sports?" My dad asks. "No, sir. I'm more in to music." Brian replies. My dad scoffs. "Dad. The band is actually really good." I defend. "What instrument do you play?" He asks. "Mainly guitar. I can play piano and I'm backup on vocals." Brian replies. "They actually have a meeting with an exec pretty soon." I add, a smile on my face. "As long as you don't go off shagging a groupie behind my daughters back, I'm all for it." My dad grumbles. Mom gives me a sympathetic look as Brian and my dad go into a separate conversation about the marines. My dads a Sergeant for the Marines, though he's pretty much retired. "What do you think?" I ask my mom. "You think I'm gonna tell you right in front of him?" She chuckles. "Probably not." I sigh. "Y/n, you didn't tell me your dad fought in the Battle of Peleliu!" Brian exclaims. "You didn't ask." I reply. "I like you son, you're a good man. Only man I want marrying my daughter." Dad laughs. A blush appears on Brian's face as he looks at me. I simply smile. "Glad you like him." I giggle.
