Ringo had just finished writing his song for Abbey Road. The entire time he was writing, he refused to tell me what it was about. "Y/n/n! Y/n/n! I finished the song!" He calls from our room. I quickly run to him. "Well, can I hear it?" I ask. He pats the spot on the bed next to him. I sit down as he hands me the paper with the lyrics on it.

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden in the shade
I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus's garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus's garden near a cave
We would sing and dance around
Because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the seaIn an octopus's garden in the shade
We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
We would be so happy, you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you

I read aloud. "It's about us," he blurts. "Am I the octopus and the garden is our house?" I question. "Good guess but no. Do you not remember tenth grade? The field trip to the aquarium?" He asks. "The one where I told you that octopus's were my favorite sea animal?" I ask. "Yes. That one." he smiles. "God. That was so long ago I can't believe you remember it. I mean, we've come so far. Haven't we?" I smile, remembering when we were just children. "I love you," Ringo smiles, wrapping an arm around me as I hand him the lyrics. "I love you, too." I giggle.
