Chapter Sixteen

I didn't really sleep at all. Matt tossed and turned in my arms all night.

"I can't lose her." he cried

"I'm sure she's going to be fine."

Just as I answered him the door opened. His mom walked in with a police officer.

Matt got up and hugged her.

"What happened?" he asked

"They have your father in custody." she replied

Matt let out a sigh of relief. He walked over and hugged me.

"He's not gonna hurt you anymore Matt" I whispered in his ear.

The cop left and we all sat down at the table.

"Sophia, I can't thank you enough for always being there for my son."

"I would do anything for him." I replied looking at Matt

"Why don't you two go watch TV, I'm going to shower."

Matt and I went up to Matt's room and laid down on his bed.

Matt and I were sitting there talking and laughing. We stopped and we were gazing into each other's eyes.

He brushed a piece of hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear.

"I'm gonna kiss you now, okay?" he asked

I bit my lip and nodded.

The next thing I knew his lips were on mine. It felt like we were the only two people on this Earth.

We both pulled away with smiles on your faces.
