HOTEL ROOM

Sam is sitting on the couch looking through books; he rubs his face tiredly. Dean is sitting up on the bed behind him, listening to the radio and eating something messy from a disposable plate. Ellie is asleep on one of the  three beds.
"Dude. You mind not eating those on MY bed?" Sam says annoyed.
"No. I don't mind." Dean says and eats another. "How's research going?"
"You know how it's going? Slow. You know how it would go a heck of a lot faster? If I had my computer." Sam remarks snidely. Dean nods sarcastically. "Can you turn that down please?"
"Yeah, absolutely." Dean says as he turns the music up louder. This makes Ellie jerk awake, she rubs her eyes groggily.
"Oh guys please tell me you are not still arguing." Ellie groans, running a hand through her hair.
"You know what? Maybe, uh, maybe you should just go somewhere for a while." Sam says loudly ignoring Ellie.
"Hey, I'd love to. That's a great idea. Unfortunately, my car's all screwed to hell." Dean says shutting off the radio.
"Guys, please stop fighting! This is ridiculous, I'm the youngest and I feel like the adult here!" Ellie snaps.
"Dean, I told you, I have nothing to do wi-" Sam starts, but is interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Sam stands and goes to the door; he looks through the people and then back at Dean and Ellie. Bobby enters, Ellie gives him a smile.
"Hey, Bobby." Sam says.
"Hey you three." Bobby enters, hands in his pockets.
"Hey, Bobby." Dean and Ellie say, standing and approaching.
"It's good to see you again so soon." Bobby says.
"Yeah, uh, thanks for coming. Come on in." Sam says. Dean comes up and shakes his hand while Ellie kisses him lightly on the cheek.
"Thank god you're here." Ellie says smiling.
"So um, what didn't you want to talk to me on the phone about?" Bobby asks.
"It's this job we're working. We - we weren't sure you'd believe us." Sam states.
"Well, I can believe a lot." Bobby scoffs.
"Yeah, no, no, it's just, we've never seen anything like it-" Sam explains.
"Not even close." Dean adds on while Ellie nods her head in agreement.
"And we thought we could use some fresh eyes." Ellie tells him.
"Well, why don't you begin at the beginning?"
"Yeah, um, all right." Sam says, Ellie sits on the bed and Bobby sits down beside her. "So, it all started when we caught wind of an obit. See, a professor took a nosedive from a fourth story window, only there's a campus legend that the building's haunted. So we pretexted as reporters from the local paper."

FLASHBACK FROM SAM'S STORY

Sam and Ellie are sitting at a table with a stocky jock boy called Curtis and an attractive girl called Jen; Ellie sets a voice recorder down on the table.
"Yeah, we both had the professor for Ethics and Morality." Curtis explains.
"Yeah? So why do you think he did it?" Sam asks.
"Who know? I mean, he was tenured, wife and kids. His book is like a really big deal. Then again..." Jen leans in conspiratorially. "Who's to say it was suicide?"
"Jen, com on." Curtis scoffs.
"Well, what else could it be?" Ellie says feigning surprise.
"Well, you know about Crawford Hall?" Jen questions.
"No we don't actually." Sam tells them.
"It's a bunch of crap, it's a total legend." Curtis explains.
"Yeah well, Heather's mom went to school here, and she knew the girl?" Jen asks.
"Wait, what girl?" Ellie questions.
"Thirty years ago, this girl was having an affair with some professor. He broke it off, she jumped out the window and killed herself." Jen tells them.
"You know her name?" Sam asks.
"No. But they say she jumped from room 6-6-9. Get it? You turn the nine upside down?" Ellie and Sam nod while Curtis laughs. "So now she haunts the building. And anyone who sees her? They don't live to tell the tale."
"Well if no one lives to tell the late, then how does the tale get told?" Curtis teases.
"Curtis! Shut up!" Jen says, Ellie and Sam exchange a glance.
"You know what, uh - Thanks a lot guys. Excuse me." Sam says and smiles.

They arrive at a bar, they approach Dean who slams back three purple shots in succession.
"Dean. Dean, what are you drinking?" Sam asks with a bored expression.
"I don't know, I think they're called purple nurples?" Dean says and burps causing Ellie to smirk.
"Okay, well listen. I think maybe we should check out the professor's office."
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no I can't right now, I've got some feisty little wildcat on the hook, I'm about to - zzzzpp - reel her in. I'll introduce you." Dean says to Sam making Ellie grimace when she sees the girl in fishnet stockings and a tight miniskirt.
"Dean-" Sam starts.
"Starla! Starla, hey. These are my co-pilots. Major Tom and Sandy. Major Tom and Sandy, Starla..." Dean says.
"Enchante." Starla slurs, draping an arm around Dean.
"Hi." Sam and Ellie say. Starla gags, covering her mouth, then looks up grinning. Sam and Ellie look skeptical.
"Sorry just trying to keep my liquor down!"
