❝lucky (pronounced ˈlʌki or luhk-ee), adjective

2. the cute girl next door.❞

That night, Hunter found himself restless. He couldn't stop thinking about Lucky- couldn't stop thinking about how amazing her eyes were, how soft her hair was, how wonderful her lips tasted...

He kept looking at his window, where he knew Lucky's window was. She'd be asleep, no doubt. But he knew someone who probably wouldn't be.

Hunter: Hey, Lilly?

Lilly: hunt? why are you awake?

Hunter: I... um...

Lilly: did something happen?

Hunter: Lilly, I just had my first kiss.

Hunter dialled in Lilly's number and called her. "Hey, is it okay for you to talk?"

"I'll be okay," she whispered, then sighed. "It's good to hear your voice again."

He smiled, leaning back against his pillows. "Yours too."

"So, how did it happen?"

"Well, she came over to hang out, right? And we were talking and stuff, and I started teaching her guitar. We were both sitting together behind my guitar, and I taught her two chords. And then suddenly, we were just really close, and I- I kinda leaned in, and she didn't pull away, so I- well..."

"Where were your hands?"

"What?"

"Where did you put your hands? On her waist, on her hips, her face, her neck, her back, just lying limp like two dead squid?"

Hunter chuckled a little. "I... um, I think they were on her waist."

"And her hands?"

"On my face, I think. Like, framing my face. Why does it matter?"
