We've been at this for two hours; can we please take a break? I say as I pull my hair out of frustration. When we entered the library, we had to greet everyone inside, seeing as they haven't seen their Prince in four years it took forever, and it resulted in myself being introduced as their princess. I hated every minute of it. So far, we've dug through dozens of books and have found nothing about what takes place during the ceremony.

No. Christopher says, keeping his attention on the book in front of him as he steadies his glasses. Ah yes, he has the ability to make objects appear with a flick of a hand. He has more powers than me, which I don't find fair at all.

We haven't found anything yet, and I think my brain is going to explode from translating everything nonstop. I'm not fluid in Satanic you know. I plead as I place my forehead on the table.

This was your plan.

I regret it. I mumble.

I know you do. He says seriously.

You're enjoying this, aren't you?

Immensely. I totally enjoy the fact that I'm being interrupted by a lazy evil mastermind while I'm trying to read something important for her plan. He says sternly.

Since when have you been so serious?

Since I was a med-school student on Earth, now shut up and let me work.

I groan and get up. What kind of books do you have, I enjoy reading when it doesn't have to do with research? I grin at him and he looks up for the first time in an hour, he furrows his brows.

Why?

Because reading is fun.

No, why do you want to read for fun when we have research to do? He smirks up at me.

I send him daggers and a vulgar gesture as I leave to explore the library. It's like a huge maze of bookshelves. The whole place smells of rustic paper. It is dimly lit by torches and of course, a floor of fire. There are two floors, apparently the second is forbidden because there are only old scrolls and curses that can be found there. As per my almighty mate's orders: we stay on the first floor as to not attract any unwanted attention.

I call bullshit.

If we're looking for old ceremonies and rituals that haven't been performed in millennia, then it's going to be present on the second floor. Luckily, he fell for my: I'm tired and lazy ruse. Therefore, I can explore in peace.

I reach the stairs that lead to the second floor. An 'authorized personnel sign only' is placed at the foot of the staircase, well I'm apparently royalty, so who cares. If anything, I'll change their memories. Piece of cake. I watch my surroundings carefully to make sure I'm not being observed-or worse- followed by Christopher.

I start marching up the stairs and when I reach the second floor, I dive into the maze of bookshelves immediately. It's darker here, there aren't many torches or lamps, or anything really. I have to rely on my demon eyes, which apparently have night vision.

I walk slowly and carefully as I listen carefully for any footsteps. I reach a junction of multiple shelves and sigh. "I'm perfectly-

I'm interrupted as someone places their hand on my mouth and grabs my neck, choking me. I don't waste another chance as I use my free hand to dig my nails into my attacker's arms. When they don't budge, I sigh to myself, I didn't want it to come to this but if it's kill or be killed, then I'm going to kill.

You're upstairs, aren't you? I hear Chris growl.

Yes, and I'm in the middle of something, so I can't talk, bye now.
