Day of arrival at the Young and the Gifted

"It's for your own good, agapi mou."(my love) My father says while giving me a kiss on my forehead. I smile sweetly and nod my head giving him one last tight and loving hug.

"We are only one call away, okay?" My mom tells me while hugging me tightly.

''Nai, mama" (translation: yes mama) I hug her back and we stand in silence. She let's go of me and looks around my dorm.

"It's a very nice room." My mom says, eyeing my new home.

It's a studio with a single bed in the corner and a desk on the opposite wall, where a clipboard is hung, there is no kitchen since there's a community kitchen downstairs. The food as well as a private trainer comes with the option my parents chose.

I have the need to roll my eyes at that thought. The fact that I burned a guy's throat by myself and that the fire didn't affect anything other than his pharynx is something that only gifted with years of training can accomplish.

"It's time for us to go, call us if you need anything, okay?" I nod and give them one last embrace before they leave.

There's a private bathroom connected to my room, apparently, I got lucky. I go to the bathroom and take a shower, I wrap a towel around me, covering myself. The meteorite bracelet is hot against my skin, forever reminding me of that day in the hospital. I gulp just thinking about it.

As I enter my room, I notice a very handsome man, not older than 20, sitting on my bed with a look of boredom sprawled against his features. He takes in my body with a quick glance but displays no emotion whatsoever.

"Turn around!" I scream, while hiding behind the bathroom door.

"As much as I enjoyed the view," he says, his deep chuckle echoing across the room, "I don't think that was a very formal introduction."

"Yeah no shit Sherlock." I say while rolling my eyes, "Would you mind throwing me my pair of pajamas please?"

"And miss the opportunity to see you walking around here in nothing but a towel?" I can practically feel the smirk sprawled across his lips. I conjure up as much control of my power that I possibly can, and I use it to send a ball of fire commencing from the ceiling down to his head.

As I await a reaction, the only thing I get in return is a laugh, "Nice try, but I think I forgot to mention that I was gifted a shield." Shit." So, your petty antics don't work on me, although I do applaud your control, I don't think I've ever met a gifted who can control their power that well after 2 weeks." I smile proudly, I don't know if he knows about my situation or not, but that doesn't matter. "You can come out now, I'm facing the opposite wall."

"Took you long enough,", I snarl, ",now where are my-"

He's standing there, arms crossed over his chest with a proud smile across his face. Pig.

I give him one of the biggest death stares I can muster.

His striking green eyes don't leave mine and I can see a hint of amusement in them.

"Turn around you pig before I make you." I say, trying to sound as menacing as possible.

"That's going to bite you in the ass...'' I look at him confused, and that's when it clicks and my confident expression drops. I take in his clothes, the school's uniform and his perfectly toned body.

Shit.

"I see you've figured it out, from the expression of defeat on your face, but in case you haven't, I'm going to be your trainer for the next year. Luckily for us." His beautiful eyes shine with amusement. Great. "I was going to start you off easy tomorrow, you know, running around the track, a few exercises for your power to get you started on the right foot, but I think I'll make the difficulty just a tiny bit harder." He looks deep in my eyes as if in a trance, and sticks out his hand, ''Tristan Montgomery, pleasure to meet you miss..." He waves his hand in the air, awaiting my answer.
