Ethan is scared. He is half filled with what ifs in regards to meeting his loves' family. The other half of him is filled with self reprimands. He knows why he is in the small town, to support, comfort, and love Odette in her time of need. Yet meeting her family and childhood friends is a huge deal. If her family were to dislike him, it would be another obstacle in the way of their budding relationship.
Every time he has looked over at Odette she has been face down looking at her phone. Eventually he asks "Who are you talking to?"
His heart falls down below his stomach yet he feels it in his throat when she answers "Anthony."
He's conflicted, he hates the monster for hurting her, yet he's jealous. What if Odette wants Anthony instead? Why is she going to him in her time of need?
"He wanted to send his condolences. I think he's going to the funeral. Drew told him I guess. Drew & Lindsay are devastated that they can't make it." She adds.
Just the mention of Drew and Ethan is now visibly seething.
Ethan felt it in his bones.
Ethan was going to lose Odette.
