The plane lands and as Ethan and Odette walk through the airport a small flaxen hair girl runs up to Odette, pointing at the bumper sticker on her old school hard suitcase. "What's an atheist?" The child asks slightly mispronouncing the word.

"It means I don't believe in God." Odette answered honestly.

"Oh, well even if God wasn't real, I'd still love you anyway." She says hugging Odette and then hugging Ethan.

"Be blessed and bless others." The girl calls as she runs back to her mother.

In the car ride to Odette's childhood home Ethan asks why Odette is an atheist. She pauses, "I just don't believe in God." she finally answers.

"I do." Ethan says with finality. "I was raised Catholic."

"Are you still catholic?" Odette asks.

Ethan shrugs, " I guess. I pray every night."

"What do you pray for?"

"I pray for my family, I pray for my friends. I pray for me and I pray for you every night." He says honestly.

"Did you ever pray for Betsy?" Odette asked.

"I did the night she died. I prayed that her soul would go to Heaven." Ethan said with his hand squeezing Odette's knobby knee.

"Thanks." Odette whispered.
