Chapter 65

(THE NEXT DAY)

"I swear he hates me" I said to Rosalie as we sat on the couch. "Mal, Emmett could never hate you. Ever. He's just worried that's all" Rose reassured. "The look on his face though. He was so hurt and upset. I feel so guilty! Maybe keeping this baby was the wrong decision" I said as I felt the tears well in my eyes. Rosalie wrapped her arms around me as she hugged me.

I heard someone enter the living room and turned to see Emmett. "Rose, would you mind giving us a sec?" He said as he shoved his hands in his pocket. "I'll be in my room" she said before getting up and walking away leaving Emmett and I alone. He came and sat were Rosalie was sitting and I looked down fiddling with my wedding band.

"Babe, I'm sorry for getting angry at you last night. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that" Emmett said and I sighed as I looked up at him. "No. It's my fault. Not once over these last few weeks have I considered how you're feeling when I should've. We haven't even been married for a year and I'm already a shitty wife" I said and Emmett gave a chuckle.

"Malory, you're not a shitty wife. You're a human being. You're allowed to make mistakes. And besides, how I'm feeling doesn't matter. You're the one who's pregnant, you're the one who is the mother of my child and I shouldn't have acted out like that" Emmett said as he grabbed my hand in his and I smiled. He leaned forward pressing his lips to mine before we pulled away.

I groaned as my stomach turned and Emmett grabbed the bucket holding it in front of me. "False alarm" I said as I felt the feeling go away and Emmett rubbed my back gently. "You cold?" I heard Edward say and turned to see Bella pulling the sleeves of her cardigan down. "I got it" Jacob said before shifting beside Bella placing his hand on her leg.

"Don't do that" Jacob said softly. "What?" Bella mumbled. "Smile like I'm your favourite person in the world" Jake replied. "You're one of them. Feels complete when you're here Jake" Bella replied. Bella let out a groan before sitting up, everyone turning their attention to her. Edward quickly grabbed a bucket holding it up.

Bella gasped as she heaved, dry reaching only for nothing to come up. She let out a deep breath as the dry reaching stopped. "We need to find a way to get some food into their systems" Esme said as Bella laid back down. "If I could only see the fetus-""The babies""Maybe I could figure out what they want" Alice said ignoring Rosalie.

"I think you might be right. Jacob just had an idea" Edward said as he turned to Jacob. "It wasn't an idea, it was a snide comment" Jake snorted. "What were you thinking?" Carlisle asked. "That they're probably just looking for someone to sink their teeth into" Jake replied. "He's thirsty" Bella said as she turned to Edward.

"I know the feeling" Emmett said and I leaned my head on his shoulder as I rubbed his thigh comfortingly. "If it's craving, it's not gonna want animal blood" Edward said as he turned to Carlisle. "I have come O negative laid aside for the girls" Carlisle said before walking off. "Walk with me" Alice said as she stood up taking Jasper's hands before the left.

I turned to Emmett and sighed. "Go" I whispered. "Mal I'll be fine" He said and I shook my head. "Emmett" I said and he sighed before he nodded. Emmett kissed my forehead before getting up and leaving the living room with Damon in toe. Carlisle came back, squeezing some blood into two glasses.

"Wait, wait, wait, your going to make them drink that?!" Jake said in disgust. "It's the fastest way to test the theory" Carlisle replied. "Only if you're comfortable with it" said Edward as he turned to Bella and I. "I'll try anything" she said eagerly and I nodded in agreement. "Just hold on" said Edward before he rose from his seat.

"I think I'm going to be sick" Jake said as he shifted away. Edward returned a few moments later with two styrofoam cups as Bella sat up. "This might make it a little easier to take" he said as he squatted in front of us handing me one. Bella took the cup from Edward as he sat back in his seat. I took a deep breath before bringing the straw to my lips taking a sip.

The feeling was indescribable. I instantly felt better. "It tastes...good" I said giving a light chuckle and everyone gave a sigh of relief. "Mmmm" Bella said as she took another sip. Carlisle walked over sitting beside Bella grabbing her wrist as he took her pulse. "Your pulse is already getting stronger" Carlisle said happily.

"It's working" Esme said as Rosalie rubbed her shoulder. Carlisle walked over to me taking my pulse. "You're pulse is stronger already too" He said and I smiled as I placed a hand on my stomach. Maybe things would be looking up.
