Chap. 83: That Sound

(*WARNING: a bit detailed but it's funny in the end*)
*Third Person POV*

      Chloe heard her parents bedroom door slam. She wondered what was going on. Did her parents have a fight? Is her Papa taking a shower? He usually shuts their master bedroom door when he takes a shower. Chloe never understood why, considering her Mama never shuts the door when she showers. Chloe wanted to get up and find out why the bedroom door slammed, but her Mama would catch her. It seems that she always does. So Chloe stayed put, listening for anything that could give her an answer.
For a while, Chloe heard nothing. No distant tv in the living room, no footsteps in the hallway, not even Copper's nails clicking against the hardwood floor. Silence. It was so quiet that she started to fall asleep. That is, until she heard a sound. A muffled sound but still loud enough to be heard.
Chloe sat up, startled. She had never heard that sound before. She crawled out of bed and tiptoed to her bedroom door with her blanket wrapped tightly in her arms. The little girl opens her bedroom door, her heart pounding. She peaks her head out into the hallway. She hears Copper whining up ahead towards her parents bedroom. Confused, she tiptoes towards that direction. But then she hears that sound again, only louder.
"Mama?" Chloe says scared.
          The sound happens again, only it doesn't belong to her Mama. It's deeper, more animal like. Horror fills Chloe. The little girl fears something has her Mama. She runs to get her Papa, searching the house. The lights are still on in both the kitchen and living room but not a living soul is around. She runs on her tiptoes to the backdoor that leads to the backyard. Sometimes her Papa went out for a smoke late at night before bed. Her Mama always made him do it before his shower so he won't get that smell on the bed. But Chloe's Papa was nowhere to be found. That frightened her even more. Where is her Papa?
        Chloe runs through the house on her tiptoes, tears on her face. When she comes near to her parents closed bedroom door, she hears her mother's voice. She sounds as if she were in distress. Chloe trembles with fear at the thought of something hurting her mother. Then she gets another idea. What if it's not something but someone hurting her mother? The thought sends Chloe through her parents bedroom door.
          Chloe freezes at the sight before her, her face full of shock and confusion. Horror filling her insides. Her Papa (Chris) was on top of her Mama (Katie), his face is right red. They are naked too! Chloe wondered if they were playing an odd game.
Where's the creature that is hurting her Mama? Is her Papa hurting her Mama? Copper barks and runs past Chloe. The dog jumps up on the bed and licks both parents in the face.
       "Copper!" Chris shouts angrily, swatting for the dog to go away.
Katie loudly gasps. "Oh. My. God! Chloe Ann, go to your room!"
"But—" Chloe starts to tear up, not understanding why her mother is shouting at her.
"GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Both parents shout angrily at their daughter.
Chloe breaks down into tears and dashed to her room. She slams the door shut and crawls under the covers. She tucks the covers under her head, grasping onto them tightly. The images run through her mind. Confusion fills her. Were they playing a game? Why hadn't she known of this game? It didn't look fun. Her Mama was in tears and her Papa's face looked like a tomato with eyes. All Chloe knew was that her Mama was going to be in her room shortly and that the squirrels she loves to feed at the park was going to starve tomorrow.

Hey readers! What did you think of this chapter? I had to delete Chap 82: Tea Party For Two because I could move on past that. It was SO boring. I hope the new Chap. 82 & 83 was good. College is taking up a lot of my writing time but I'm still trying! I'll update either tomorrow or Friday.
