CHAPTER 19

I stood in the DJ's area or what we like to call, the DJ's floor since it's one floor above the dance floor. It isn't one whole floor, just a small one the size of a coat closet. It has no walls, just rails around the edges of the floor so nobody falls. The whole floor and stairs that lead up to it is al made of glass. The floor is full of equipment, stereos, turn tables and all that stuff for the DJs. I stood there, looking at all the familiar buttons and wires. I smiled. I always had fun when I was the DJ. It kinda relaxed me and I never thought of anything else when I DJ'ed (Again, Idk the real word :)) I looked over the crowd of people dancing and grinding, laughing, drinking and talking. I grinned and looked over to the special VIP area. Matt and Jake were watching me but Bruno, Sarah and Ashlyn were nowhere to be found. I shrugged and waved over to them. Jake gave me a thumbs up and Matt just grinned back at me and wave. I could see that he was confused. I lowered the volume of the music and grabbed the mic. I turned everything on and put the mic in front of my mouth. "Here goes," I whispered and took a deep breath. "DJ Smirks is in the house!" I screamed and people looked up at me and started cheering and clapping. "So, today we have a guest and they're really awesome. It is none other than the band, G-Land!" I screamed again and the people cheered. "You'll see them later! Right now, you're all gonna have to dance your butts off!" Again, people cheered but louder than before. "So everyone get on the dance floor and listen to what I say!" More people got on the dance floor and it was really big so everyone fit, in fact, there was still a lot of space left. I looked over to the special VIP area and Matt and Jake were gone. I looked at the crowd and spotted Jake talking to some girl. I also spotted Sarah and Ashlyn in the middle of the VIP dance floor dancing together. Biggy was at the bar talking with a beautiful looking woman. I smiled. I felt happy for him. He was like a brother to me. Where was Bruno? I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see Matt. He walked up to me and pecked my cheek. He put his arms around my waist and I grabbed the mic again. "Now everybody, get ready to daaance!" I screamed into the mic and people started getting ready for the song. I turned the volume up and turned on "Getting Over You" by David Guetta, Chris Willis, Fergie and LMAO. At the start of the song, I screamed into the mic, "Clap your hands to the beat!" People started clapping to the song and when the beat changed I screamed into the mic again. "Now dance like you've never dance before!" People started jumping around and dancing. I grinned as I watched the crowd of people 'dance like they never danced before'. I turned the mic off and turned to face Matt. "So, you're DJ Smirks huh?" he asked into my ear. I chuckled and said, "Yeah, how'd you like the show?" He pulled back and looked at me like I'd grown 3 heads. "Like it?! Hell, I love it! You know what?" he screamed at me. I laughed then said, "What?" "You're AMAZING!" he screamed again and pulled me in for an oxygen-cutting, bone-crushing hug. I hugged him back then when we pulled away, I turned around and looked over the crowd while Matt still hugged me from behind. He put his chin on my shoulder and started swaying us to the song. I followed but I also concentrated on the crowd. Everyone was dancing, including Sarah, Ashlyn, Jake and Biggy but Bruno was nowhere. I ignored it and started grinding with Matt. We danced with perfect synchronization with the song and we had so much fun. Before, the song ended, we stopped and I turned the mic on again. I did a few more songs and after a while, I got tired. My last song was "Replay" by Iyaz. When the song finished, I grabbed the mic and people started clapping and cheering. "Wasn't that fun? Well, that was my last song-" I got cut off when they all started protesting and booing, "but, the night is still young!" Everyone started cheering again. "We're gonna have a little concert for you guys later and guess which band." I paused for dramatic effect. People started answering back and cheering and clapping. "Yup, that's right, G-LAND!!!" (The band that played that night." People screamed and cheered. The band appeared out of the door that lead to the room that connected backstage to the DJ's lounge. They stood beside me and Matt. G-Land was a band that was kinda famous in this area. There were 5 group members, Trey, Ashton, Kellan, Brandon and Clay. I knew them well and they were just like normal friends since they've played a lot of times in the club. They waved and bowed for the crowd and the crowd of people cheered. There had to be at least 100 people in the club. I laughed and said in the mic, "Well, guys, it's great to see you again. How does it feel to be back here again to play for all these amazing people?" I asked them and turned to them. Matt still had an arm around my waist and I kissed his cheek. I held the mic out for them and Clay, the vocalist, took it. "Well, Casey, it feels great to be here again. We haven't played here in a while! Wow! I can't remember the last time we did! And, of course it's great to see you again!" he screamed into the mic. The rest of the band agreed and we said a few more things then I wrapped it up. "Okay, so, you're gonna see them play later! Right now, it's time to dance and I'm gonna hand it over to DJ DJ!"I screamed into the mic and the crowd went wild. DJ DJ was one of the usual DJs here. He came out of the door and walked over to us. "Thank you, Casey," he said to me and I gave him the mic. He screaming at the crowd like I did and he started playing a sound. I took Matt's hand in mine and walked over to the band. "Hey, guys, let's go to the Chill room." The Chill room was what people called the special VIP area. They agreed and Matt and I started walking to the Chill room with the band right behind us. They shook hands and said hi to a few fans while walking there and we finally got there. "Woo! That never ends!" Ashton screamed and we all laughed. "Hey, guys, it's great to see you again!" I screamed and they went to me, greeted me and hugged me. We were all really close and we acted like best friends around each other. "So, who's this?" Kellan asked me and gestured to Matt. "Hey, I'm Matt. I've heard a lot about you guys and I can't wait to hear you guys play later," he said and wrapped his arms around me. I held his arms and kissed his chin. "Hey, man," they all said and they introduced themselves to him. "So, this is your boyfriend?" Brandon asked and I scoffed. "Uh, who else?" I said for Matt. He laughed and kissed my cheek. "Ah, same old Casey Bryson. You haven't changed and by the way, you look beautiful tonight," Ashton said and they all laughed. "Ex-ca-use me? I am not old and yeah, I haven't changed and also, thanks! I missed you guys! We should all hang out again," I said and they laughed once again. They all murmured yes's and yeah's. We sat down and started talking and laughing again. I took a big gulp of my drink and it tasted different. I ignored it and finished the whole thing. The DJ'ing really got me tired. Sarah, Jake and Ashlyn came in the room. They all knew the band since they've been to the club a lot of times before. I smiled at them and I walked over to Ashlyn and Sarah to hug them. When we pulled away, all the guys were talking with each other. Ashlyn and Sarah sat between Ashton and Clay while Jake sat next to Trey and Kellan. Brandon was sitting with Matt and they were talking and joking around. I went to the railing and put my hands on it. I looked over the crowd and saw Biggy dancing with the woman but still no Bruno. Where the hell is he? I was starting to get curious. Isn't he my bodyguard? He should be watching over me not the other way around. I was in deep thought when someone grabbed my shoulders and I jumped. I turned around and Matt was looking at me. "Whoa, Matt, you scared the hell out of me!" I screamed and he looked guilty and sad. "I'm so sorry," he said and looked at his feet. "Nah, it's okay. I was just thinking," I said and cupped his cheek. He looked up at me and I smiled at him. He hugged me and when I pulled away, I kissed his cheek. I took my hand in his and we walked over to the guys. "Is everything okay?" Brandon asked as we sat down beside him. I was about to sit beside Matt when he pulled me onto his lap. "What do you think you're doing?" he asked with goofy smile on his face. I grinned back at him and put my head on his shoulder. "Yeah, everything's great," I said and smiled at him. He shrugged but nodded. "You looked really worried," Matt said. I shrugged then said, "I was looking for Bruno. I haven't seen him anywhere." He nodded then said, "Yeah, I've noticed. He's probably with a girl or something. Don't worry about it." I nodded and then started chatting with the others. Matt and I kissed a few times but only quick kisses. "Hey, Case, what was with that bouncer before? You said you were gonna fire him?" Jake asked, breaking my kiss with Matt. "Ah, Clive and I like to have some fun with some of the new staff members," I said and winked at him. He laughed then Clive said something to me in the mic. "Hey, you there?" he said and I put my finger to the hearing thing. "Yeah, in a minute," I said into the mic. "I'll be right back," I said to the others and got off Matt's lap. He let go off my hand and I walked to a stool that stood at the mini bar and sat on it. I looked back at Matt who was looking at me worriedly and I gave him a small smile for reassurance. I turned around and faced the crowd, everything was pretty much normal. I looked at the crowd and found Biggy grinding with the same women. I smiled and clicked the button on the mic you click to speak.
