Adopted By Sam and Colby

Chapter 18

I awaken laying down on a pillow cradling my face. Im amazed that I keep finding myself in these positions I don't remember falling asleep in. I sit up with a soft lavender blanket covering me. Im where the seats and table should be but instead I'm lying on a really uncomfortable mattress. I get out of bed and stretch, hitting my hands on the roof. I look up at Elton and he is sitting on his laptop, editing the video from yesterday I assume. I climb up the ladder and see Sam and Colby up on the bunk, sitting on their phones making small talk. I tell everyone Im going for a walk and I grab my clothes and towel from the RV and head to the community building to have a shower. I get out and get dressed and when I get back in to the van, Sam, Colby, Corey and Elton are ready for the day and ready to start the couple of hour drive to our next activity. The had turned my bed into the chair and tables again and I grab one of my pillows and put it in the corner to lie on. I open my laptop and continue to edit the photo I was doing last night. Music echoes through my ears as I sit patiently as we start to move. Colby comes over when I look up at him I take my headphones off and put them around my neck again. The sound of Sam and Elton talking from the front is the only thing I can hear besides the engine, rumbling as we continue to move. I look over at him and he leans forward to have a convocation with me.

"Hey, I was about to tell you something last night but you fell asleep. You..."

"Look, about that. Please don't mention it to the others. It's not something I go around telling people."

"Why not? You're so talented. The guys would think that you were amazing. Honestly they would probably get you to take the thumbnails for the videos." I shake my head and shhh him. I don't need the others hearing as well.

"Maybe. I don't know, I don't really want to though. Its just a hobby that I have and that I do in my spare time." He nods his head and continues to look at me.

"I love the photo of that boy on the beach. The one in the water with his hand in his hair, that you were editing. I really like that one. Oh! and the one with the fall trees! It was so good!" I open my laptop and show him the photo I was still editing. "This one?" I ask, turning my laptop around to face him. I quickly scroll through my phone and find that the fall photo isn't on my phone but it was on my... website? I look up at Colby and his attention is quickly drawn up from my screen to my eyes. "The fall photo isn't on my phone... where did you see it?" His face turns bright red when my eyes open wide. "Did you go...?" "I saw it on your website." he says completely honest. My jaw opens widely.

"Im so sorry, I saw it open on your laptop and so I opened it on my laptop and looked through it. You're really good Jules!" I don't know what to do. Colby now knows my secret. One I didn't want anyone to know about. I look at Colby, gobsmacked. "Jules, Im sorry." I continue to look at him when I finally figure out what to say. "Colby, Its fine. So long as you don't tell anyone. Please Colby, Please don't tell anyone." He gives me a grin and nods his head. "I promise Jules." He gets up, shoves my feet out of the way and gives me a hug. I put my head on his shoulder and I continue to edit the photo until we pull to a stop. I look out the window and see a row of shops and restaurants on the side of the road. We get out of the van and I follow Elton as we enter a grocery store. (A/N This wasn't in the video! This idea was based off the video on Joey Graceffa's channel with LaurDIY. Also, It is halloween around this time and Im not sure that New Zealand even has these products or celebrates Halloween but just roll with it.) "Ok, your going to have a camera each. Are your phones charged?" We nod our heads in response as we take a quick glance at our phones.

"You are going to have 3 minutes to find as much stuff as you can by the flavours of Pumpkin spice. It has to be pumpkin spice because it is almost halloween and you need to meet back here when the timer is done. Are you guys ready with your baskets? Also, lucky for us, they have agreed to have a timer go off over the speaker." As soon as he finished talking, the intercom went off.

"Good morning everyone, today we have some YouTubers from america that are going to be running around for the next three minutes doing a challange. There will be an alarm that will go off in three minutes so please don't be alarmed. Ready, set, go!" We set off and I held my phone on me, running through the isles. I first went to the coffee isle and got pumpkin spice coffee because it was the first thing I could think of. I then ran through a couple of isles the to the bakery section. I found a bunch of cupcakes and donuts that had the flavouring and ran to the fridge isle, keeping my phone on my face and talking to it the entire time, trying to look like the guys when they vlog. I found a coffee creamer and then went to the next isle over, being the cookie and crip isle. I can see Corey at the end of the isle and I quickly grab a pack of pumpkin spice power bars when he wasn't looking. "Beep! your timer is up!" I some how managed to grab 6 items and head back to the meeting spot. My basket was almost full and when I see Sam, he only had one item in his basket. I laugh and place my basket down then walk over to get a cart. When I arrive back, all the items are out of my basket and have been counted by Elton. Im amazed that I won when Sam had 1 item, Colby 3, Corey 5 and Elton 4. I do a little happy dance for the camera and we hand the baskets over to the lady that worked there, apparently, she was going to put all the items away for us. I hop into the cart that Colby grabs and I get in as my prize, I don't have to walk around the store. We thank her and Elton gives her a shout out of her instagram as we continue from the start of the store to the end, each grabbing things we want to put in the cart. I direct Colby to the pre-made cupcakes and I grab a vanilla one. "Yum, what flavour?" Colby asks as he continues to catch up to the others. "Umm... vanilla." I say, holding the cupcake before placing it down next to me. I don't want to make a big deal of it but the day after tomorrow is my birthday and it's my own present for myself. We continue down the isles to the flour isle. I quickly jump out of the cart and head down the chocolate isle. It has all the baking toppings as well and I grab a flake thing and a chocolate bar and head into the toy isle after hearing Elton laugh and find them playing with foam swords. I roll my eyes and pull out my phone and take a snap chat of them. I post it to my story with the caption: "With these weirdos. When in a New Zealand store:" I laugh as I head around the corner and grab the last foam sword and hold it to Corey, who has his back to me. I hold it to his neck threaten for him to walk the plank. I laugh when I put it back, put my items in the cart and hop back in, getting Colby to push me around. We get to the oreo isle and I look at Corey, he looks at me and I jump out of the cart. We run together and find a family pack of oreos. We grab a family pack each and walk back to the cart with excitement in our eyes. "You guys can grab some if you want one." I say, playing the oreos in the cart. "Aren't you going to share?" Sam says to us and Corey and I share a glance. We burst out laughing and I get back in the cart. "Are you kidding? You think family packs are actually to be shared with a family?" I laugh so much that I am crying. Corey laughs along with me until we head back to the camper and put all the food away. We sit for awhile when the sky starts to cloud over with darkness and pounding of water and rain hits the roof of the camper van. My eyes widen as I watch the latest TFIL video on my phone. We begin to drive and make our way to the next crazy activity that Elton has for us.
