Chapter 39

Jugheads P.O.V
I headed up to Archie's room him following behind me and he turned on the Xbox while I sat down with the controller in hand. While the game was loading in the corner of my eye I noticed Archie's blinds were open. I could see Betty, Veronica and (Y/N) all sitting on Betty's bed laughing about something. I smiled it's been a couple weeks since I've seen (Y/N) smile with all the stuff going on. If it's not Jake then it's Chuck both of them together are making (Y/N) more stressed then she needs right now.

"Spying?" Archie asked with a smirk
"No" I said then turned my head towards the tv. Archie laughed
"I never thought I'd see you act like this around a girl"
"Never thought I'd feel this away about a girl before" I said
"I'm happy for you" Archie put his hand on my shoulder
"Now get ready for me to kick your ass"
"Id like to see you try" I said with a confident smile

Y/N P.O.V
Betty and Veronica were laughing at a story I was telling, I was explains to them the whole Halloween situation since they never got to hear it.
"So you guys have no idea where the snake is?" Betty asked
"No I hope someone got it or the Blossoms are gonna have one hell of a surprise when they return from vacation" I said then lied down on Betty's bed
"What kind of family takes a business trip in November? Christmas break is next month anyway, and what business trip does a company that makes maple syrup take?"

Both girls shrugged their shoulders
"So (Y/N)" Veronica started I sat up in preparation for what she was going to say
"What is it?" I asked
"Jake" was all she said before I fell back down with a groan
"What about him?" I asked
"Everything" Veronica said
"Ok... I gonna need a bit more then that" I said
"Why did you date him?" Betty said getting straight to the point. I sat up from my position on the bed
"He wasn't always a jerk, when we first met he was sweet and welcoming, wether that was just an act to led me on I don't know. I do know is that he's changed since he got here I'm not sure how or why but something changed him." I said looking off into the distance memories came flooding back to me

"Come on we're almost there!" Jake said grabbing my hand running with me behind him
"Where are we going? It's pouring down rain!" I shouted
"I thought you liked the rain, you said you would draw in the rain if you could" he said then stopped
"Ok now look" he motioned to the river with forest on either side
"You said your old town has a river and you were feeling homesick so here's your little slice of home." He said I was speechless I turned to him
"Thank you" then I wrapped my arms around him in a hug and he reciprocated by wrapping his arms around me. The hug didn't last long he broke apart and said
"Wanna get out of here and find someplace dry?" I nodded but took one last glance at the river before taking off

"(Y/N)?" I herd a voice say
"What? Oh sorry I spaced out" I responded
"I was saying that it looks like you have someone watching you" Betty said pointing towards the window there next door was Jughead smiling and waving at me. I smiled with equal enthusiasm and waved back

"I think it's sweet how much he cares about you" Veronica said
"Yeah it's sweet he's always been sweet, even after all that he's gone though he's still puting others first." I said
"I wish I could see that side of him" Veronica said quietly, I turned to her
"It will come in time, Jughead is equally shy as he is sweet just be patient" I said while putting my hand over hers to comfort her Veronica nodded

"I get it from what I've herd he hasn't had the easiest life"
"No not at all and sometimes it seems it just gets worse" I said my voice getting quieter
"We should do something" Betty suggested
"Like what" I asked
"We should have a small party" Veronica said
"Guys I don't know Jughead isn't a big party person"
"Come on it will just be the 4 of us we'll go to Pops for dinner, then we'll let him pick a movie that we all go see."

"Well... his birthday is coming up" I said
"Perfect!" Veronica said I groaned
"Jughead hates his birthday"
"Why?" Betty asked
"I don't know he just always has so if we do this on his birthday none bring it up no one even get him a present" both girls nodded
"This will be fun" Veronica said who was always in the mood for a party. I just hopped it wouldn't end in disaster
