Look Who's Back In Town

Chapter 19

Jugheads P.O.V
"You nervous?" Archie asked
"No why would you think that? I asked
"Because you just spent 5 minutes adjusting your hat"
"Whatever Archie I have to look my best, this is important to (Y/N)"
"Yeah speaking of (Y/N) did she mention our fight"

"Yeah and she's still pissed at you"
"What why?"
"Um because she was going through a bad time and needed her friends don't act you didn't hear what Chuck said at the party"
"You mean the thing between her and his cousin?"
"Yeah he messed her up Archie"
"What happened?" He asked
"I'm not going to tell you it's (Y/N)'s business" I said before heading out

I told Fred where I was going then made my way to (Y/N)'s home. I knocked on the door and (Y/N) answered  the door
"Hey!" She smiled and gave me a hug then let me inside, closing the door behind us. She lead me to the dinner table both of her parents already sitting down
"We are just about to have supper come and sit" she walked towards her seat but I pushed out the chair for her to sit on
"Thank you kind sir" she said then smiled (Authors note: GENTLEMEN MODE ACTIVATE) 
"Your welcome my lady" I said she smiled then I sat down on my own seat at the end of the table

"So Jughead how are you doing?" Mrs (Y/L/N) asked
"I'm doing ok all things considered" good job Jughead your in her house for less then five minute and your already bringing up the dead kid good job great dinner talk.
"Yes what a horrible thing to happen to that boy did you know Jason?"
"Not very well I would see him around school but we never really talked"
"Yes well from what I herd he was very popular and a great athlete too. Such a horrible way to go and so young" I nodded then it was silent for a minute

"Mom, dad Jughead is actually writing a story about Jason" (Y/N) said
"Reallly?" Mr (Y/L/N) asked
"It's still a work in progress" I said
"What's this sorry about about?"Mr (Y/L/N) asked again
"Um well it's about this summer, this town and about the mysterious death about Jason Blossom, I'm trying to solve it actually"
"How do you know it was a mystery?"
"Well it doesn't add up, Jason was a star athlete, the captain of the school water polo team drowning? I didn't believe it even before they found the bullet" both of (Y/N)s parents nodded

"Well I hope you find what your looking for Jughead and I hope your book does well, we'll be sure to pick up a copy I know (Y/N) will be the first one."
"Mom!" (Y/N) said clearly embarrassed
She bent her head down and poked at her salad with her fork, I looked down at mine not knowing what half the things are in the salad. What's this green lefty thing that's not lettuce?

"So Jughead how's your family?"
"Dad!" Y/N said clearly pissed that a source subject was being brought up
"Good actually I talked to my dad yesterday and my mom lives in Torleto with my sister but I talk to both of them every week"
"You talked to your dad?" (Y/N) asked surprised that I didn't mention it to her
"Yeah actually not too long ago

Flashback to roughly a hour ago
My phone rang and a famille name popped up
"Dad" I said to no one in particular, debating wether to answer I just sighed then hit accept
"Dad?"
"Hey Jughead how are you doing?"
"Good dad how are you?"
"Busy with work, Fred is keeping my busy" I laughed
"Yeah I can see that"
"So what about you anything new?"
"Actually yeah I'm heading over to (Y/N)'s for supper"
"(Y/N)? She's back"
"Yeah recently actually"
"Did you take my advice?"
"Dad" I said embarrassed at my dad remembering over a year ago my dad telling me not to take my time with (Y/N) but to ask her out before someone else does.
"Well? Your going over to her house for supper it must be serious"
"Yeah actually it is, she makes me happy dad"
"I'm glad kid, bring her over one day"
"Really?" I asked
"Yeah don't worry I'll tidy up the place"
"Ok" I said holding in a smile
"Great I'll take to you later good luck tonight be a gentleman"
"Always dad" we hung up then I got ready
Flash back over

"That's great" (Y/N) said smiling obviously happy for me we continued supper both (Y/N)s parents embraced her at times bringing up childhood memories. At the end of the meal (Y/N) walked me over to the door
"See you tomorrow Jughead"
"Yeah see you (Y/N)" I don't expect her to kiss me but that's exactly what she did she grabbed my neck and kissed me, I was surprised at first but the kiss didn't last too long.
"See you tomorrow" then she left and I walked out speechless
