DEX:

I walked up to the golden gates of Everglen. Nerves and anxiety were flooding my veins, leaving me shaking. With a whoosh, the gates started opening, and I paused before walking through.

"Is that Dex? What happened? We haven't seen your face here in while," Della smiled with a wink.

I, of course, blushed.

"Um, well, there was an ordeal with the Neverseen and my sister, but the whole thing was a hoax. Basically, I was busy sitting in a cylinder for a few weeks because of some nonexistent plague. Um, is Biana here?" I rambled.

"The Neverseen attacked again?" She asked, wide eyed.

"Well yeah, didn't Biana tell you?" I asked, now confused.

"No, she didn't. BIANA!" She screeched.

"What?" I heard her shout, causing my stomach to flutter.

"Get down here no!" Della shouted.

"Uh, fine!"

Soon we heard her stomping feet as she stormed into the kitchen. Her hair wasn't brushed and she was in her pajamas. Her eyes went wide when she saw me, and she yelped; hands flying to her hair.

I couldn't help but smile, and Della was laughing.

"This. Isn't. Funny," Biana stated darkly to herself as she turned tomato red.

"It kind of is," I smiled lightheartedly.

She glared at me, and asked "What are you doing here?"

"Biana! That's not how you talk to a guest!" Della scolded her, and Biana rolled her eyes.

"So would you like to tell the truth about your actual whereabouts last week?" Della asked, drumming her fingers on the kitchen counter top.

"I was with Marella, we had a sleepover," she said, staring deeply into her mothers eyes.

"Um hmm, well apparently there was a Neverseen attack that same week. You sure you had nothing to do with it," Della said furrowing her eyebrows.

Biana looked from me to her mom and groaned. "I got captured, no big deal. We left right away. It was fine, can we drop it? Thanks."

She turned away to leave, when Della raised her voice.

"I do not like that attitude young lady,!"

"Well I don't like the fact that you invite people to our house without telling me! I also don't like the fact that he's here. So, what exactly are you here to say or do, Dex?" She asked, glaring at me.

I turned red, "Um, well--"

"Biana! What has gotten into you? You're being extremely rude right now--"

"I don't want to do this right now, okay?" She sighed leaving the kitchen.

I ran after her, but I could still here Della's long frustrated sigh.

"Biana, wait!" I said running up to where she was on the steps.

"Just leave me alone!" She said, but I grabbed her arm.

"Biana, please," I whispered softly.

She didn't say anything.

"I wanted to talk to you about things," I said dumbly, blushing.

I heard her snort, "You know that's really funny."

"What do you mean?" I asked defensively.
