Logan looked towards the door of Heath’s hospital room when he heard it open. It was his wife, Ava. She had just come back from sending Claire off after the incident with his son. Logan looked back down at Heath, who was on the bed, unconscious once more.

“Don’t worry, Mom.” Declan said and Logan looked at his other son who was still in the room. He was also looking down at Heath while he spoke to Ava. “I’m sure everything will be alright.”

Ava sighed and shook her head. “I don’t know anymore.” Then she walked over to the bed and stared at her bedridden son with eyes that narrowed more and more every second that passed by. “Heath, if you can hear me, you are in so much trouble. You’ve completed humiliated Claire!”

“Mom.” Declan flatly said, but she ignored him.

“I know every single girl you’ve come into contact with but who is this Clarissa girl? When did you meet her? How? Just who is she?”

Logan watched as Declan’s lips twitched before he walked over to his mother and wrapped his arms around her.

“Calm down, Mom. Heath’s practically brain-dead. Do you really think he can hear or answer you?”

She shook off his arms and turned around to glare at him. “How can you and your father remain calm at a time like this? I’ve always hated that characteristic of you Bishop men!”

Declan raised an amused eyebrow. “You’re right. Bishop men. That includes Heath. You know that he would be just as calm as us if it was me or Dad on that bed.”

“That’s not the point.”

“She’s talking about the fact that your brother called some other girl’s name but Claire’s, Declan. Not the fact that we’re unaffected by his comatose state.” Logan joined into the conversation.

“Oh.” Declan blinked before he shrugged. “Well in that case, that’s not our problem. Heath got himself into that mess. He can get himself out…as soon as he wakes up.”

“And what about the fact that your brother’s truly in a coma?”

Declan looked at his father, who shrugged at him. He returned the shrug before looking at his mother, who was giving both her husband and son glares. “It’s just a bump on the head from trying to look cool. He’ll be fine.” Declan answered. “Besides, we knocked heads all the time anyway.”

Logan chuckled to himself when he saw his wife roll her eyes and sit in the chair beside Heath’s bed. Eventually, Declan left, saying he would come again later tonight to visit his younger brother again.

After he left, the room was silent for a few seconds. Then Ava reached for her son’s head and brushed her hand against his hair. She glared at Logan from the corner of her eyes before she looked at her son once more.

“Oh, Heath. I told your father not to play this game.” She gently said. Logan calmly sat still in his seat as his wife told their unconscious son about what was really going on. “But how can I tell him to stop when it’s exactly what brought me to him in the first place?”
