***A WEEK LATER***

Harry was out of my life, he wouldn't even come near me or dare to look at me anymore.

It was about 1 in the afternoon, Hayes was at work. I had nothing better to do so I thought it might be nice to surprise him at work. I hadn't seen him in about two days. He went to a party with Matt, I'm so glad they're friends again, but I had to stay home and study last night.
Everything was falling into place, particularly with Hayes. Maybe this was suppose to happen. I found myself falling for him all over again. Ever so slowly.

The bell rang as I walked into Starbucks.
I saw Hayes, laughing with one of his coworkers, he turned to the sound of the bell. I swear his face dropped at the sight of me.

"Sam." He said, "I thought you had classes all day"
I shrugged, "I skipped me first class."
Hayes seemed to step back as I walked closer to the counter.
"Everything ok?" I asked
"Huh?" He said, not even looking at my face when he spoke "Yeah I'm fine."
I was trying to read him. And then my eyes fell onto what was making him so nervous.

•••HAYES POV•••

I saw her breath hitch in her throat. I bit down on the frown I had painted on my face. I knew she could see it. I knew she could see the hickies hiding under my collar. I saw her eyes begin to water.

"Sam, please-" I started.

"Just forget it." She whimpered, turning around to quickly leave.

I jumped over the counter to follow her outside.
I snatched her small hand in mine "Sam, listen-"

"No!" She snapped, turning around and pulling my hand from hers, "I thought we were going to work this out!"

"We are, Sam! Let me explain!" I said.

"Don't bother, Hayes! I'm not stupid!"

She's not stupid but I am. How did I let this happen?

"I just wanted to trust you." Sam wiped away a single tear.

"And you can just let me explain!"

"I really don't want to here about some other girl sucking on your neck and probably something else too!"

"Why can't you just listen?!"

"Because I thought you were mine, Hayes!" Sam barked back.

"I am!"

"Apparently not! I really thought we could have had a second chance! How could you?!"

I was silent. I didn't know what to say.
A girl began to kiss my neck and I was too drunk to stop her just because it felt so good. It's the oldest story in the book, but it happened!

"I knew it from the start." Sam mumbled "I knew you weren't the same."

"Sam please..." I didn't know what to say.

"I don't know why I trusted you again."

My heart was breaking so easily.

"I'm sorry." I whispered "I regret even going to a party without you."

"You know what I regret, Hayes?"

I didn't want to hear her answer but she gave it to me anyways.

"I regret giving you a second chance."
