The day of Court

Jordan's POV
"Kid wake up." Demi says trying to wake me. "No." I say pushing her hands away as i covered myself again. She chuckles as she stands on the bed. "WAKE. UP. JORDAN!" She says jumping on the bed. As I continued to sleep through her annoying ass. "Don't make me get your sister." She says "Ugh! Okay I'm up." I say knowing Lacey she'll most likely come in here with a water gun and I did not want to be soaked first thing in the morning. "Good. Get ready cause we are meeting up with everyone at Denny's" She says as she exits the room. I got the clothes that I was going to wear for Court. Nothing too fancy. Just a Paramore T-shirt,Black jeans and Converse. I took a quick shower and changed and then went downstairs. "So you ready for all this to be over?" Lacey asks "If by "all this" you mean Demi not being in jail anymore then hell yeah!" I say as she chuckles. "I love you Jordan and I'm really proud of you for doing this." She says "Thanks Lace that means a lot coming from you." I say smiling. We head out to Mason's car. Lacey in the passenger seat while Demi and I are in the back. "Nervous?" I ask Demi. She was wearing a black pantsuit and her hair was now pulled back into a ponytail. "More like anxious. What about you?" She asks  "Kinda just want to get the whole thing over with." I say she nods. As we arrive at Denny's I saw the gang,Officer James and Hayden. "Hayden is that you?" I ask "Hey Shorty it's been a while!" He says messing up my hair. Lacey introduced me to Hayden her Senior year. He was in her Sociology class. "How've you been man?" I ask him "I've been great. Super stoked that this is my first case." He says I smile "Well then I want you to meet someone. Hayden meet your first Client Demi Lovato,Demi this is your Lawyer Hayden." I say introducing them. "It's great to finally meet you Ms.Lovato." He says "You too Hayden and Demi is fine." She says "Alright then Demi. Can't wait to put that asshole where he belongs." Hayden says as Demi smiles. "I like this kid." She says as I laugh. We all head inside to have breakfast then we all go to where the trial is being held. "Nervous?" Alex asks me as the judge is about to speak. "Just a little bit." I say she nods and grabs my hand. "Don't be. You'll do great. I know you will." She says I nodded and hoped that she was right. Wilmer pleaded not guilty which I rolled my eyes at and then the trial started off with Wilmer's first witness. Wait I recognized her from somewhere. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was the actress! "So would you like to tell me what happened the night you went to a Demi Lovato Concert. 3 Years ago." Wilmer's Lawyer asks her. "Well. Wilmer had snuck me backstage. The truth is that yes I was hired to pretend to be a fan of Demi's but Wilmer had heard on many occasions that Demi would bring young fans from the audience each night into her dressing room and do sexual things to them. He just had to see for himself. So While I was in the room with Demi he went to call the police just before she could do anything to me." She lies. I glare at her with this look on my face that says "Bitch you better fucking run!" "No further questions." Wilmer's Lawyer says. Hayden stands up and I smile. "Hello Ms.Lewis." He says "Heather will do." She says "Right. So tell me Heather when you say that Wilmer had told you that Demi had sexually harassed other girls. What was his expression?" He asks "Well he was um he was very concerned for the girls and angry at Demi." She says totally not ready to answer these questions. "So he wouldn't appear to have this huge grin on his face when he handed you the money." Hayden asks "Um no i mean why would he?" She asks him. Hayden turns on the TV to show the security footage from that night. "If the jury could turn their attention to the video shown. You can see the defendant clearly handing Heather what looks to be 1,000 dollars. As you can clearly see he has this grin on his face. Nothing indicates that he would have any concern or anger towards Demi or the young girls. Nothing Further your honor." Hayden says sitting back down next to Demi. Hell yes! Way to go Hayden! Damn this guy is good! "I'd to call up Officer James to the stand." Hayden says Officer James goes up to the stand and gets put under oath. "So Officer James. I understand that Demi is in the cell block that you are in charge of correct?" Hayden asks "Yes that is correct." Officer James says "So how was her behavior like when she first entered jail." He asks. "Well at first she was very cooperative. But over a few months the cell mates got to her. She was no longer being cooperative it was like she was another cell mate. But we all eventually knew that would happen." Officer James explains. "Right. So explain to the jury how she reacted when you told her that she was going to be paired up with Jordan for an assignment." Hayden says gesturing towards the jury. "Well to say that she was furious would be an understatement. She threw the packet into the trash and gave me a glare yelling in my face 'why her?'." Officer James says "What about after she started to get to know Jordan?" Hayden asks that's when Officer James smiled. "I started to see the spark back in her eyes. Each day she came back from spending the day with Jordan she would have this huge grin on her face. She was no longer another cell mate. She was now an innocent person who needed to be freed from captivity." Officer James says. "No further question your honor." Hayden says Officer James looked at me and smiled and I smiled back. I held a tighter grip on Alex's hand knowing I was next. I could feel my chest tightened and my breathing picking up. "Jordan babe. Calm down. You need to calm down baby. Be strong for Demi she needs you to be brace right now." Alex whispers I nodded and started taking deep breaths. "I'd like to call Jordan Jones to the stand." Hayden says I took a deep breath and slowly let go of Alex's hand. I went up to the stand once they were finished putting me under oath. "So Jordan would please tell the court how your relationship with Demi has been these past few months." He says "Well we had a bumpy start at the beginning but that's just because we didn't exactly know each other. I mean was pretty scared just to be in the same room as her. But then as weeks went by and I started to get to know her better I began to be more comfortable around her. She's like another older sister to me. These past few months with her are something I would never trade for anything. We've had our ups and downs but we pulled through it and we have a strong bond because of it." I say as Demi smiles at me. "Love you kid." She mouths. I smile since I couldn't mouth anything back. "Jordan is it?" Wilmer's Lawyer asks. A middle aged man with his hair slicked back asks I nodded as I glared at him as well as Wilmer. Assholes. "Well tell me Jordan. Has Demi ever suggested you do anything together like I don't know sleep together in the same bed or share a dressing room." He asks "Well we have shared a bed before but we were both in PJs and nothing besides cuddling was happening." I say "Right. So you're saying there has been no Sexual activity between the two of you." He asks "absolutely not!" I say clenching my fists. "No further questions your honor." He says "Um your honor would it be okay if I said a few words to the jury." I say to the women to my right she nods. "So I know what you're thinking. Why would I want to bail a Prisoner from jail. Well the truth is she's not a prisoner. She doesn't deserve to be in the position that she currently is in. She's a good person and I know for a fact that she would never do that to a child. I've been with her for months and she hasn't once laid a finger on me. She's been around Officer James' son and played Cars with him. Please consider the fact that she might actually be innocent and that the defendant might not be." I say as I step down from the stand. "Alright then the trial will take a short recess while the jury is out." The judge says slamming the mallet. I let out a sigh as I hear every start talking. "You did great up there babe. I'm so proud of you." Alex says "Thanks but I'm seriously rethinking my career choice now." I say as she chuckles. "Not so easy working for the law huh Jordan." Officer James says "No but your job seems pretty cool." I say as he chuckles. After an hour of waiting the jury comes back. "Has the jury reached a Verdict." The judge asks "We have your honor. We find the defendant." Please say guilty please say guilty. "Guilty of framing an innocent civilian." One of the jury members say. My smile widens. "Mr.Valderrama I sentence you to 30 years in jail with no bail. As for you Ms.Lovato all of your chargers are dropped so you are free to return to your life." The judge says slamming her mallet down. I run to Demi with tears in my eyes. "You did it kid. It's over." She says I shake my head. "We did it Demi. We did it together." I say smiling she hugs me again and kisses my forehead. As we exit the court room I see Wilmer being cuffed by Officer James. Soon he'll be put behind bars where he fucking belongs. "Wait Demi we're going back tomorrow. Where are you going to stay?" I ask "Well Officer James and his wife have agreed to let me stay at their place at least until I get back on my feet. Since I lost my house when I got locked up." She says "Okay but I still get to visit you right?" I ask "I wouldn't want it any other way kid. Plus you still have Prom and Graduation and if you think I'm letting you go to prom in a t-shirt and jeans then thick again." She says "Ugh! So close!" I say as she laughs. "And now that I'm out of Jail I can chaperone the prom too. It's on a boat this year right?" She asks "Yep the last year they are doing it on a boat too." I say "Oh I am so going!" She says I smile. I knew that this meant that Demi and I could do whatever we wanted now and we didn't have to follow some stupid contract rules anymore and I could finally introduce her to my mom. I smiled just thinking of all the possibilities that we had now that Demi had her Freedom. I just couldn't believe that we had finally won this battle. And that we did it together.
