Senate • Obi-Wan Kenobi

"Senator Organa" I said following down the hall holding my tablet with a new bill showing on the screen. "This new bill being introduced would weaken regulations along the Kessel run, pretty much opening it up to Spice merchants."

"Who's proposing such an idiotic bill?"

"Take a wild guess." I said scrolling to the top, displaying the name of the author. Sen. Malcea of Gry'na. I showed it to the senator. He scoffed and we turned into the box.

There was a Jedi and his Padawan standing there, their hands folded before them. I eyed the saber's on their belts nervously.

"Master Obi-wan." Bail said warmly to the older Jedi.

"Senator" He greeted bowing his head slightly. He was handsome, very handsome. He had long red hair and a well kept beard. "Ma'am." He said tilting his head to me.

"This is Farah, my new assistant." Bail said motioning to me. I tilted my head respectfully.

"Pleasure to meet you, Master Obi-Wan." I said. "I've heard much about you."

"The pleasure's all mine." I blushed and tried to hide it by looking down at my tablet but that must've made it more obvious. I heard his padawan scoff and Obi-Wan hit him in the arm.

"What have we done to deserve the pleasure of your company?" Bail asked.

"Nothing, it's what other people are doing." Obi-wan said. "We have reason to believe there will be an attempt on your life today, before you have a chance to speak out about the Kessel bill."

"Well, if you insist, I will not deny you your job." Bail said, he stepped forward and placed his hands on the railing, looking out onto the huge room filled with balconies like ours. The Jedi moved to the side respectfully.

My eyes locked onto the older Jedi's. He smiled slightly and I looked down at my tablet and started scrolling through the bill, not reading it.

"Farah, may I see this, I need to prepare my speech." Bail asked.

"Of course, sir." I said handing him the tablet. Fuck. He took my only distraction.

"Since when does Senator Bail have an assistant?" The young Jedi asked. His master hit him on the arm reprimanding him for his rude comment.

"Anakin." Obi-wan said in a low warning growl.

"No it's alright." I laughed. "I used to be a handmaiden to his wife but he thought my... skills could be better used here."

"Skills?" Anakin asked rudely with his eyebrow raised.

"Anakin!" Obi-Wan said annoyed and angry, but keeping his voice pretty low. I bit my lip and looked away timidly."I'm sorry my Padawan is... difficult." Obi-Wan growled.

"It's fine." I said waving off the boy.

Suddenly the door slid open. We turned to see who it was. It was A representative from Kessel. Bail stood up. I sucked in a sharp breath.

"Farah, Obi-Wan, please leave us." Bail said sternly.

"Senator-" Obi-Wan started.

"Leave" Bail growled unexpextedly harshly. Obi-Wan looked a bit shaken, he wasn't expecting it either. He stood still. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the balcony. His padawan followed.

"What's happening? I was charged with protecting him."

"Kessel wouldn't dare kill Bail, Alderan is too important to trade." I said. He relaxed again, and looked down at his hand. My hand had slid down so I was holding his hand.

"Oh!" I said pulling my hand away grabbing it in my other hand. "I'm sorry." I said. Anakin snickered.

"Anakin, leave." Obi-Wan said annoyed. Anakin's smile dropped and he bowed slightly and walked away.

"I'm sorry about him, he's..."

"No, it's-it's fine." I said smiling at the man. He smiled back. He really was quite handsome. You could get lost in his eyes...

"Uh, I was wondering, do you want to... get some Caff some time?" He asked. Was he asking me out? Was a Jedi asking me out? I thought Jedi could't.. date or even have friends.

"Is that wise, Jedi Master?" I asked reminding him of his rank.

"No, it's not." He scratched the back of his neck nervously. "But I'm still asking." He said. My mouth hung open a bit, I didn't know what to say.

Fuck it.

"Yeah sure." I said breaking into a wide smile. He broke into a smile that mirrored mine.

"Great." He said laughing slightly, seemingly surprised that I said yes.
