Chapter Twenty - His Side

Ren has not left my side ever since I got hospitalized. Day in and day out he has been by my side always quite keeping it in. It feels like a dream us playing house together I wish we could go on forever like this ,but I know my happiness has an expiration date and its coming soon. I felt a light kiss on my forehead tilling my head up Ren hovering over me his scent over powering mine. I let out a smile and move my legs over for him to sit. "Ohayou Gozaimasu Athena"  his voice made my stomach twist in a good way "Good Morning! did you want some tea?"  I asked him ; he takes a deep breath in and plops down. "That Would be great!  I will have what you have smells great." he said his head tilled back on the coach "Oh this is just plain black tea." I said "Black tea doesn't have a sweet aroma like that " he said puzzled "Hmm it smells really sweet me ... I guess it must have been you I smelt." he said and mumbled "Ii nioi." my heart thumped I loved when he spoke is Japanese. 

Ren seemed a bit off to me like something was upsetting him. I know he isn't much of a talker , but maybe if I ask he might tell me something. "Ren?" I called his name from the kitchen my back facing him hoping it would help me get out the words I keep chocking on. "Hai?" his voice projects strong and firm. I walk towards the living room with his tea in my hand. "Can I ask you something?" I feel so nervous for some reason. "Of course anything come sit down. I feel so uneasy with you standing up while I sit." He rubbed the seat next to him with a smile. I took his gesture and sat down. "Okay well... I-I uhmm" What is wrong with me its Ren I live with him why can t I just spit it out. "Just relax now i'm getting nervous now did I do something too upset you Athena?" he asked moving in closer , his bodying leaning more towards me. his eye locked on to me making my cheeks feel flushed again. 

"No-No not at all Ren...I just wanted to know whats wrong you seem distracted. I just wanted to know is me being here hard I can move back in my condo its just down the hall." I exhaled finally.Iif he says yes I can live with that being away from him everyday. Its not like we are together like that... are we? Ren sits up , his head down placing his arms on his legs. "I hope I didn't upset you I-I" he cuts me off " Do you think i'm a horrible person Athena? I must have done something to let you have these thoughts? I'm nothing like that scumbag that lay his hands on you." he paused forming a fist with his hands. I could see his veins popping out. He held the fist he formed so tight his once red fleshed hands turning a place white. " You are nothing like him Ren." I said trying to keep in my tears in ...when did I become so weak?

He slams his fist of anger he balled up hard against the table and I simply kept still Ren got up and ran his fingers though his hair , his head facing up at the ceiling he lets out a deep breath. " You I replay in my head everyday what if you just would have came with me. You could have been save I-I could have protected you better. I wish you would have just took the ticket I bought you and came with me to Japan."  He takes a pause "I know running away isn't the answer ,but I could have figured something out." He moves in closer to me and places his hand on my cheeks. I didn't know I was crying. " Seeing you cry gives me so much pain. I never want to see you like this." He kisses my forehead "I'm sorry for scaring you I was upset at myself not you. Please forgive Athena." He's not looking at me why isn't looking at me? " Ren don't worry I'll be fine." I returned him with a kiss on his lips. I began to laugh to help break the dark cloud of emotions.
