Chapter 2: Kick Out

~★~

Normal POV

Team Natsu, minus Lucy, stared questioningly at Master's door by the second floor where the blonde just entered.

"What did she mean by that?" A confused Natsu asked while scratching the back of his neck.

"Exactly what she said. She's been going on SOLO missions for the past months, Fire Lizard! And your saying that you haven't noticed?! Are you freaking blinds?!" An enraged Gajeel spat out to the three members who had their eyes widened in realization. The rest of the guild saw the commotion and stopped whatever they're doing to see what's going on. Realizing the reason of their fight, everyone felt silent as they can't believe that the self-centered Iron Dragonslayer was somehow standing up for someone. Well, aside from a certain bookworm whom he has taken interest on.

"She's what?" the red head murmured which only made the iron eater's glare harden.

"And you call yourselves friends? Nakamas? I know she told me not to speak. To have you realize your mistakes by your own. But i'm freaking tired of it! Screw her kindness! That girl's breaking inside! She's been f*cking ignored by mostly everyone of you for 4 months! She's been crying herself to sleep, thinking she's just some mere replacement and weak! But i had enough! You can't just take her for granted like that!" The fuming dragonslayer was being held down by Levy who was looking away from the guild, either in disgust or distaste. She too, agree with every word Gajeel had spat out. Her bestfriend had enough of the silent and cold treatment.

Wendy, Romeo, Juvia, Lisanna and the exceeds, who never once forgotten the blonde, stood beside the outraged dragonslayer, bookworm and barmaid. They too know that enough's enough. Their friend doesn't deserve this.

"Gajeel-san's right. And you have the guts to kick her off the team? Lucy-san's been going on solo missions for months, going home with bruises and deep wounds. But never once i heard her bad mouth your team. She never once thought badly of anyone, though you clearly deserve it. We've been offering to join her on missions but never did she say yes to our offers, saying that she needs to get stronger. She has a heart of gold! Clearly she don't deserve this treatment your giving her!" Wendy, the shy Sky Maiden, yelled out angrily which left the whole guild in silence and shock. They never once thought that she had it in her.

"I can never be more disappointed in all of you. Our nakama's in there, feeling all alone and neglected. She has no more living relative, she only has us to treasure as her family. But look what you all did?! You made her feel unwanted and empty! Lucy had enough pain. She already lost both her parents and now, you made her think she also lost her friends. Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?!" Mira's, the she-devil, outburst made everyone in question look away in shame and guilt. All thinking and neglecting all they've done for the past months. All wanted to come up and hug the said girl to ask for forgiveness.

But no one felt guiltier than Team Natsu whom was said to be closest to the blonde mage. They all had their share of guilts and sorry's. But a certain pyromaniac had it worst than the other two members of the team. He had his eyes covered by his bangs, body shaking in somewhat anger, fists almost turning white by his clenching.

Among everyone else, he felt the worst. He was her bestfriend, after all.

"Are you certain about this, Lucy?" Fairy Tail elf-sized guildmaster asked the mage in question whom nodded in finality. She heard everything that's happening dowstairs, all thanks to her super keen hearing she developed when she was still a child.

"I'm certain, Master. I still need to look for them anyways. I need to make sure they're still alive after what happened years ago. Aside from that, i really want to see them." The blonde pleaded to her master who looked uncertain at the moment. His eyes not leaving her's for a second, searching for hesitance for her actions. But unfortunately, he found none. The Stellar Mage's indeed determined to leave. And he know he can't stop her even if he wanted to. He doesn't have the slightest right to stop her, after all what happened..

"I will allow and trust you on this one, Lucy. But you shall return in years time, am i clear?" His voice was full of authority which gave the blonde a little scare.

"Of course, Master. About two years from now, i suppose. Certainly by then i probably have found them." the spirit summoner said as she pursed her lips together to a thin line.

"Very well, my child. If that's what you wish. But do tell me before you leave, who are 'they' whom you keep speaking of?" The old man asked the younger teen who grinned like a cheshire cat. The topic surely brought smiles to her face as she temporarily forgot the tension happening downstairs.

"They happen to be my last hope and light. They're the only ones who fully understands me and my power. Unfortunately, we all got separated years ago. But i promised to look and search for them. And i'm planning on making that promise come true. They are my only living relatives left.."
