"I really think Luke's the hottest." Ragan's voice rang through my ears and I felt my blood boil.

"I don't know, Ray," Libbey said, "I think Calum is looking really nice. Like, really nice." She said and they all laughed a little bit.

Michael hasn't talked to Belle yet, but he told me that he was going to ask her to go to Howdy Neighbor Days with him. And she better say yes. She's been acting weird ever since school started.

But, the fact that Ragan was talking about Luke made me even more frustrated. She took no interest in him last year, and now all of a sudden she does just because he looks different? I still remember the way people looked at them when they walked into the gym that morning.

I don't even know if Luke knows. They all know people look at them differently, but, I don't exactly know what goes through their heads when they walk down the hallway.

"Hey Sam?" Emily's voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I shut my locker, looking at them,

"Hm?" I didn't look at Ragan once, and I don't think she looked at me. Belle wouldn't really look at me either, which confused me a little bit. Emily moved some hair behind her ear,

"You live with Michael, right?" She asked and I nodded. "So you get to see the other three, too?"

"Yeah.?"

"Well, what're they like? Like, outside of school?" Libbey asked and I glanced away, knowing the bell would ring in a minute. A huge part of me just wanted to walk away, but I knew I couldn't. So, I just looked back at them,

"Um, they're really weird. You'll have to ask them. They have some pretty uh, strange stories." I said calmly and walked away.

I heard them mumble to themselves, but I just shook it off. I walked into English III and said hi to Mrs. Parrigon before sitting next to Luke and Ashton. I locked eyes with Luke for a split second, and when I looked away I could see his smile fade.

Luke's POV

When she looked away from me, my smile slowly faded away. Ash and I exchanged glances and I looked back at her,

"Sam, what's wrong?" I asked and she shook her head,

"Nothing."

I knew she was lying to me, but I didn't know why. I'll ask her about it at lunch.

-At lunch-

She walked into the cafeteria hand-in-hand with Gage, and I felt a huge pang of jealousy run through my veins again. I hate him. I'm sorry that's mean but, I had to put it out there. Just in case you guys weren't able to tell before.

Tomorrow night is the first night everyone goes that uh, Howdy Neighbor Days thing, and it kinda sucks because I think she's going with him both tomorrow and Saturday...

I leaned towards Michael and asked if he could get her to come over here. I knew she probably wouldn't if I said something. He motioned for her to come over to us, and she hesitantly nodded for a second before looking back at Gage.

He frowned slightly and glanced up at us, and he said something to her that I couldn't make out. She laughed and he kissed her forehead, making me feel really tense.

She let go of his hand and started walking over to us, and he looked over at me. I think he was going to say something, but Alec got his attention. Sam got over to us, and came up between Ashton and Cal,

"What?" She asked and Michael chuckled,

"We just wanted you to sit with us." He said calmly and she looked nervous. Why the hell was she nervous? She bit her lip and looked at a different table behind her.

Something's wrong. And I want to know what it is. This isn't the way Sam acts. Especially around us. We locked eyes and I stood up, grabbing her wrist. I started walking out of the cafeteria and I could feel her struggling to get out of my grip.

"Luke!" She whisper-shouted and I chuckled lightly, pulling her into some old supply closet they don't use anymore. I turned the light on and faced her. "What're you doing?" She asked and I leaned against the door,

"Sam, what's going on with you?" I asked in a serious tone and she let out a huff and turned away from me,

"Luke," she ran her fingers through her hair, "I don't want to talk about it. Especially with you." She looked at me and I rolled my eyes,

"Oh, thanks." I said sarcastically and she actually giggled. I grinned and she went to grab the door handle but I hit her hand.

"Ow!" She laughed and looked at me, "Luke, please. Move."

"I'm not letting you out of here until you tell me what's wrong." I said solemnly and she rolled her eyes. I chuckled, "Don't roll your eyes at me! I'm being serious." I had a small smile on my face when she giggled again. She messed with my shirt a little bit,

"Believe me, Luke, if I wanted to talk about it, you'd be one of the first people I'd come to." She looked up at me and I frowned slightly,

"You always want to talk about what's bothering you!" I said and she looked away. "Why all of a sudden do you not want to? Is it something Gage did or-"

"It's because of Ragan!" She interrupted me and my features softened, I think. She let go of my shirt and leaned against the wall. She wouldn't look at me and I bit my lip ring,

"What'd she do?"

"It's not about what she did. It's what she said this morning." She said quietly and I immediately thought the worst.
