Friday rolled around, and I was really happy because there was a home game tonight. Football game. And I was really happy about it because I was gonna be able to get Michael to go to an actual social event.

I remembered when he told me that he wasn't a big sports guy and I just laughed. He has to go tonight. The football games here are amazing. They're fun, loud, and they get like, really pumped up. I don't understand why he wouldn't like it.

I walked into 8th hour, and said hi to Mrs. Jelinik before looking at the table to see that Gage wasn't there. I felt my smile fade and I walked up to my seat,

"Where's Gage?" I asked and Kali looked up at me,

"I don't know. He'll probably be in here, soon." She reassured me and I looked down at Michael. He was on his phone, and he looked like he was deep in thought.

"Mikey?" He looked up at me. "You okay?" I chuckled lightly and he nodded before looking back down at his phone and I looked at Kali. She shrugged,

"Don't ask. He was like that every chance he got last hour." She said and I raised an eyebrow before sitting down. I looked back at Michael,

"What're you doing?" I asked and he mumbled something. I grinned and chuckled again, and then started working on my project again.

"Samantha!" I heard Gage's voice, and I spun around, locking eyes with him. "Hey," he got up to me, "I have a really important question for you." He told me and I nodded.

I don't know. There's just something about Gage Brown that I really like. He's so sweet, and he's just a great guy. The fact that he's actually attractive is just, a bonus.

The 5 minute bell rang, and I stood up, walking to the sink, and washing the paint off of the pallet. I wondered what Gage was going to ask, and I started getting in my head, thinking like,

'Listen Samantha, I really like you. A lot. And, I was wondering if you'd want to be my girlfriend.'

You know, cheesy stuff like that. He walked up next to me,

"Do you mind?" He asked softly and held his paintbrushes up. Mrs. Jelinik always really appreciates it when we wash out our paintbrushes and stuff, and I shook my head,

"No, go ahead." I smiled and he grinned, and moved so our shoulders were touching. I felt my cheeks get warm, and I bit my lip, hiding the smile that kept trying to cover my features.

We talked for a little bit, and I finally had the courage to ask.

"So hey," I started and locked eyes with him, "what'd you want to ask me?" I asked and he smiled at the floor before putting the brushes and my pallet up for me,

"Yeah, um, are you going to the game tonight?" He asked and my heart sank a little bit,

"Um, yeah. I go to all of the home games." I chuckled lightly, "You know that." I dried my hands off and threw my paper towel away. I heard him giggle,

"Oh yeah. Well, I was just curious." He said and I felt my heart sink a little more.

We talked for a little while longer about it until the final bell rang. He smiled at me, and I looked back at Michael. He planted a kiss on my cheek, and I let out a quiet gasp, setting my hands on his chest. He chuckled and came up to my ear,

"See you tonight." He said and walked out.

I was frozen to the spot, and I started chewing on my lip, putting my hand on my cheek, and feeling how hot my cheeks had become. I laughed and Michael walked up to me,
