"You know, you really shouldn't be up this late. Gives you horrible skin, I've heard." His voice was the only thing making sound on the beach. The water was completely still, and so were Will and I.

Until Will spoke, "What do you want?"

"Ahh Spectre, still there I see. What, you haven't up and ditched the villain yet?"

"She's not the only villain in this conversation." He quipped, wrapping an arm around my waist.

I didn't hesitate. I teleported us back to the dining-table in Bo's house. There was obviously something that Joshua wanted, and we may need as many recourses as possible. My Red Spirit phone was untraceable, I learned that most of my phones needed to be, the hard way. We were safer here than out at the beach.

I sat down under a heating duct, placing the phone on the table and waiting for Joshua to say something. Cracking my fingers, waiting. Waiting with baited breath.

Why would he call us now? To take the time to explain his evil plan? He wasn't that stupid, neither was I. He was winning, he'd captured almost all our pieces, and we were just trying to stay on the board. So what was his purpose in calling?

"But what do I want? Well, I am prepared to offer you a deal."He said, and I heard shoes tapping against floor as if he was walking or pacing.

"A deal? Does it include you giving up the device and then killing yourself?"

"Fortunately for me no, but I am willing to help you if you help me."

That's absolutely ridiculous. What cards does he have to make him so prepared to deal, he knows something or has something over us. Will cautioned, sitting down across from me, we can't help him Wren, there's something off about it.

We should still find out the whole story. It'll tell us something. I replied, not liking it in the slightest. "What is it Joshua? Get to the bloody point already."

"I want you to do some things for me-"

"Like what?"

"I'll tell you if you agree. And as a gesture of good faith I'll tell you one of the errands." He seemed to take a sip of something, knowing the guy it's probably wine or the blood of seven virgins born on a weekday, "I would be immensely happy if you returned my Soul of Armenia."

Silence on our end.

Well.

That came out of left field.

My response was laughter, channelling Red Spirit again, "Why? I don't get why you would turn such a priceless object into a gun. It has more value unchanged." Pulling the thing out of the depths of the safe-zone (I had to bury my arm in there almost up to my shoulder to find it), I placed it on the table in front of me.

He let out a chortle in response, sipping the glass of whatever again, "That's neither here nor there."

"Just answer the question Pike." Will glared at the phone, he was Spectre through and through right now. All business again.

"How about we leave it at -I need it for something unrelated to this whole... power business."

I wanted to punch something. All I saw of the room was clouded with a red-hot rage that I hadn't felt in a long time. I was going to kill him one day, we were going to end this by any means necessary.
