We spent the rest of the day in the garden. Casper came to join us and some of the pixies gathered around to watch as I blundered through some spells and magic manipulations. We worked on holding the magic in a solid form then manipulating it into a shield. I always get about halfway through a full body shield before it snapped and electricity dispersed. "How--how on earth do you stand there holding that shield in place?!" I huffed, hands on my knees to keep me somewhat upright. Gavril's shield was made of air with dark particles throughout it. He stood there with his hands in his pockets as he grinned. "I'm safe from stray zaps that float my way. A few times today was enough," he chuckled. I secretly did not think it was enough. He had to start having his shield in place to keep from getting shocked every so often. "Well I can fix that," I walked over to him and stopped in front of his shield. He quirked an eyebrow at me and waited. I reached my right hand out, pinched some of his shield and pulled like a table cloth off a table top. The shield came away and popped. I grinned as his face slackened. "What the hell?" he frowned, while I laughed and placed my hands on my hips.

I was good at detangling spells--per years of trying to eavesdrop on Mom and Grandma. They had to make more complicated layers of spells and enchantments to keep me out as I grew up--and also creative punishments too but they never did turn me into a toad. Some even had multiple triggers that alerted them when I was up to no good (again). I did trigger those from time to time--and got the record of them grounding me to prove it once they gave up with the warnings. "How did you do that?" he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Years of practice. I may not be able to hold spells or do them or what not. BUT! I have spent those years 'decoding' complicated spell works from two very accomplished Gypsies," I waggled my eyebrows.

"Why am I not surprised?" he shook his head at me, "I've seen some memories of you getting up to no good." I nodded my head. "Do it again," he said and brought his shield up instantly. I gave the shield a knock knock before pinching and dispelling it. We did this multiple times with him doing different tactics of the makeup of his shield. "You're literally just picking my magic apart," he whispered. I nodded my head and wiggled my fingers. "There's one thing that we all agreed that I wouldn't let people know. Since we're in each other's head, I guess now's better than letting you coming across it. Anything that requires magic--I can see and touch. Even after you've set a trap, trace, or whatever. Yeah...just like demons can come to think of it."

"No. Not all demons can. Only high ranking ones can, Shelly," he shook his head. "You said no one knows this?"

"Yeah. Besides Mom and Grandma. Since humans don't cast spells and I was never taught, they didn't catch on to how I was able to figure out what my presents were on my bday or surprises. Once they caught on to what I was doing, they were able to get little ol' me to promise not to talk about it or do it in front of strangers or friends. But, they did start teaching me how to control my electric zapping since it became an issue." Gavril looked at me oddly before bringing a hand up and formed a circular thing that floated to the ground.

"Could you please show me how you despell this?" he asked. I went over to the circle on the ground, looking at all the intricate loops and knots. It looked like white and black strings forming the overall pattern of the circle. I squatted and looked around. Reaching a hand out, I ran my fingers around the edges. I followed the flow of the smooth, cool magic and found a little dip in magic strength. I focused on that spot and started detangling the white and black strands of magic. The long and short strands unravelled on their own after a while and the spell popped out of existence. "TaDa!" I smiled up at him. His eyes were wide as he looked from the empty spot where the spell was and back to me. "That was a trap with a trigger to...you...wow," he ran a hand through his hair. He looked back at me with concern in his eyes. I frowned and tilted my head, "What's the matter?" He started pacing left and right like a caged animal.

"You sure only your mother and Grandmother Besley knew about you being able to do this?" he questioned. I felt concern and worry biting at him through the link. "Yeah. I never did this but only at home. They didn't want me to eavesdrop. All that sparkly and colory stuff got me interested--didn't I know it was a spell or something till later. They always made it hard to listen with them floating around the door so I fiddled and got rid of them. I would work on those spells but they were always inside the house. Normal humans dunno how to cast these things. Why? What's the matter?" I asked. I was getting a bit of heebie jeebies. He ran both hands through his hair before taking a deep breath that drove some of the edge off of the hair raising feelings wafting off him. "Do all Gypsies inherit paranormal traits from their parents? Particularly the paranormal parent?" I blinked and thought about this.

"I'm...uncertain. I would ask Mom. Though in my case, I have. Yeah. I got her electric skills and his demon magic meddling. But Mom's not really a true paranormal going by the book of what-is-a-paranormal."

"Do you know what this means?"

"What?"

"If this is true, do you know what all this means?" he asked again, looking me in the eyes. My eyebrows furrowed and shook my head left and right slowly. What does he mean? Why is he looking so antsy? "What does this...mean?"

"This aspect of Gypsies might be the reason why Seal of Solomon is interested in you guys. Think about it. Gypsies cohabited with paranormals for generations. Humans that are sometimes the Life Mate of a paranormal. You inherited magic that's naturally your favored element--electricity--from your mother. Your mother must have inherited this favorability from some other source. If this is true...as the maternal line grows and moves from generation to generation, the human will have not only the blood of humans, they'll have that of other paranormals from generations past. You're human in form still, but your blood carries the magic of generations of paranormal races mixed in. If you inherit skills of your paranormal father and gypsy mother...does that not mean that you have the blood of old magic of your grandparent's too? And those before them? What race of paranormals usually have a tendency toward electric magic? That did not originate from gypsies, that's for sure." I frowned and paused my whirling mind to focus on that last question. What paranormal race usually had a tendency toward electric magic? My eyes shot up to his. The Angels and Archangels. In the books I've been reading, one type of paranormal race usually favored a common type of element. Electricity was the Angels and Archangels but those have not been seen or heard from for over a thousand years. "Oh my brownies...it can't be?" I was in a daze. I didn't hear what Gavril had to say as I ran back into the house.
