"Bend, exhale, and fold over your legs. If your hamstrings feel a little tight at first, bend your knees so that you can release your spine. Let your head hang heavy. Remember to breathe."

As I instruct Brynlee into a pose I follow the same directions feeling my air intake increase. The pink yoga mat beneath my feet keeps me steady, the grip something's otherworldly. It's better than my mats at home which are worn out seeing as I got them when I turned 15.

I found Brynlee's yoga mats tucked away down in the basement when I went in there strictly out of boredom. She told me that she wanted to get into it a while back but never found the passion to actually do so. I explained that Solana makes all the girls do yoga regularly to improve our strength, balance, and flexibility. It's also a good way to relieve stress.

That led to us turning dad's living room into a yoga studio.

"Break." I said, us both coming up for air. We take spots on our mats in a sitting down position facing each other. Crossing our legs we grab ahold of each other's forearms and I pull back as Brynlee comes forth. "You know my mom never does this with me. It's nice having a partner who actually enjoys doing something without making me feel like I'm forcing them to do it."

After ten seconds she comes up and pulls me towards her. "I've always wanted to do things like this if I ever had a daughter." She laughs. "Honestly it's a little embarrassing but I find myself getting excited whenever you ask me to participate in things."

When I come up I see her smiling face. It makes me happy that she's not some raging bitch. It's been a week now that I've been here and she's been nothing but smiles and happiness. It's a complete change from my mother and honestly I enjoy it.

From spending daddy's money on nonsense, eating out, getting our nails done, our hair. It's been fun and I dread going back home later.

"Why did you never have kids?"

Letting go of hands, me and Brynlee lay on our stomach still facing each other. I lace my fingers together sitting my chin on my hands.

"Well in my last marriage I tried getting pregnant but it wasn't in the cards for me. I found out that I couldn't have kids which eventually led to my divorce... It was sad but eventually I got over it and besides there are plenty of other options when it comes to having kids. Your father and I have recently started talking about adoption."

My dad has always wanted more kids. He loves me but I know that him having another child would also make him happy. "I hope whatever you two decide pulls through. You would be amazing parents."

"Thank you Sable."

"You're welcome." I mumbled, laying my head down.

Between school, practice, and the weight of the pageant coming up soon, it's almost as if my body starts rejecting everything but I know it's just the nerves.

The house door opens but I don't get up knowing it's my father. His deep voice booming through the house proves that. "Either my wife has a secret admirer or a secret lover I know absolutely nothing about."

"Samuel, don't make me—."

"Kidding." He nervously laughs. "Just kidding, these are actually for Bambi."
