I stayed up in my room reading the black book don gave to me some time last week but i realized it was the translated version of what Claudia told me about.

For the hundredth time that day I glanced through the list of allies whose names were inscribed in the book and i was totally lost cause no name seemed familiar and i was frustrated cause I didn't know who I could trust. Fuck everything felt like a dead end. I cursed and raked my hands in my hair.

I shut the book and groaned in frustration. I was disrupted by the soft knock of someone. Immediately I figured out it was Esmeralda I hurriedly cleared my bed from the files and other stuff that didn't need to be seen by her.

"Mamá, can I come in?" I heard her soft voice call from the other end as I walked towards the door to unlock it. I opened it to find her staring up at me with a sheepish look and then I realized she was dressed already which caused me to smile.

"Is that what you gonna' wear and follow mamá?" I crossed my arms and rested my body on the door and I noticed her eyes became dull. "Why? You don't like it? Does that mean I'm not pretty" i chuckled and bent down to her level.

"No gem, you're very pretty and your dress is as well but I have something else for you, would you like to see it?" She nodded with glistened up eyes and I took her hand in mine and led her into the room. I gently sat her on the bed and went into the closet to get the stuff I got for us days back.

I kept the bag that had my own outfit on the bed while holding hers. I opened it and brought out the black hoodie, matching black pants and a pair of white sneakers I got.

The way her face glowed with joy told me she loved it. Then i brought mine out and showed them to her. "So you and mamá are going to be matching, do you like that idea?" I wiggled my brows and she nodded with a grin. "Yes mamá, I love it"

"C'mon let's get you ready" i stripped her out of the pink dress she was putting on and got her into the new outfit. Once she was all set up I went into the closet to get dressed. I came out and found her playing with my phone with a pout on her face.

"Esmè what are you doing?" She looked up and stretched the phone to me. "Pictures" I got the hint and smiled. "Alright just give me a minute" I went over to the mirror to finish up my look with a gloss and a simple jewelry set. I felt a tap on my thigh and I looked down to find her staring at me.

"Mamá" she pointed at the gloss and I chuckled at her facial expression. "Come here" I made her sit on my thighs and handed the tube to her. She ended up applying a little too much causing some to smudge at the corner of her lips. I helped her wipe the excess off and made it look better.

"Thank you mamá" she got off my thighs and went to the bed to get my phone so we could take some pictures. When she was satisfied she handed the phone back to me and I sprinkled my cologne on before leaving the room.
