Chapter 31: The Face Off

"Sir, I scheduled your flight earlier. Mr. President said that he already arranged your date with the daughter of the owner of Winner Group this coming Monday. So you have to be here this Sunday. Your flight will be on Friday night."

"Date? What date?"

"My guess is right Sir. Mr. President is trying to pair you up with her. I'll send you some of her pic in your e-mail."

I sighed. I scratched my nape out of frustration.

"Mr. President said that you must be there at all cost if you do not want to bring embarrassment to them."

"Okay. Okay. I'll just fix some things here. Just send me my schedule."

I ended the call. I guess I'll have to reject the lady politely and ask for forgiveness. But I understand Grandpa. He's been bugging me to get married because I am not that young anymore.

Binulsa ko ang phone ko at tumingin ulit ako sa direksyon ni Den. I can't help but smile as I watch her play with some of the kinder students in our school. Ang hilig niya talaga sa bata. Hindi niya rin kasi naranasan ang magkoroon ng nakababatang kapatid.

I just enjoyed looking at her when my phone vibrated. Kinuha ko ang phone ko at tinignan. It's a message from my secretary. I opened the mail he sent me. It's a picture of a woman. Nagsilakihan ang mga mata ko ng makita ko ang picture. Wow. Ang ganda. White skin. A well fit body. A captivating smile. And there's some glimmer in her eyes. She's smiling widely in the picture.

"Ano yan?"

Halos malaglag ko ang phone ko ng marinig kong magsalita si Den sa tabi ko.

"Den! I didn't notice you there!" I tried to divert her attention. Tumingin ako sa kung sa'n niya kalaro ang mga bata at hindi ko nahlatang wala na pala sila.

"Sa'n yung mga bata?"

"Umalis na sila. Hindi mo man lang nahalata dahil titig na titig ka diyan sa phone mo. Ano ba yung tinitignan mo?"

Sinubukan niyang kunin yung phone ko pero agad kong nilayo.

"A-ah. Wa-wala. May sinend lang yung secretary ko." Alanganin akong ngumiti sa kaniya.

She then shrugged it off at hinila niya ako patayo.

"Sa'n tayo pupunta?" I asked her.

"Uwi na tayo."

"Ha? Hindi ba tayo magdidinner?"

"Namiss ko na luto mo eh." She pouted.

Ngumiti na lang ako sa kaniya. I really can't say no to this woman. We went to the grocery para bumili ng mga iluluto. Naisipan kong magluto ng sinigang dahil yung yung paborting paborito niya na luto ni mama. Dati, basta alam niyang magluluto si mama ng sinigang, pupunta at pupunta siya sa bahay.

"We're here."

Bumaba ako at pinagbuksan siya ng pinto. I took the groceries at the back. Pagkakuha ko, pumasok na kami sa loob. While inside the elevator, Den suddenly held my free hand.

"You really like holding my hand that much?" I asked while smirking at her.

"Ang yabang mo talaga no?"

Lumabas na kami ng elevator at pinangigilan niya yung pisngi ko. Tatawa lang ako habang hawak hawak niya pa rin ang isang kamay ko.

"Dennise..."
