Chapter 28: Hold me tight

"Yes! Sa wakas! Tapos na ang drama niyong dalawa!" Ella shouted as she waved her hand in the air sarcastically.

After the blockbuster drama inside the airport, we all went out of the airport. Den and I are still awkward with each other, or maybe we are still high on our emotions.

"Pero akala ko kuya, sumakay ka na? How did you get back here? What happened? Bakit may dugo yang polo mo?" Liza suddenly asked me.

They all looked at me. Napatingin naman ako sa sarili ko at di ko nahalata na mukha pala akong nakatakas sa isang kampo ng mga terrorista. My polo is tucked out. Blood is splattered on it. I looked at my reflection at the glass beside me and I can see how totally messed up I look.

I tried to fix my collar. Pero bigla na lang lumapit si Den sa'kin at siya na mismo ang nag-ayos nito. She even fixed my cuffs and some of my hair.

"Uuuuuy! Si bunso, nagprapractice na ata siya. Excited?" We all turned around when we heard a sudden shout from a distance.

Not far from us, Fille walk hand in hand with the ER's chief which took all of us by total surprise.

"May something ba sa kanila?" I whispered at Den as we watch the two approach us.

"I don't know.. But I'm sensing that I will have a brother-in-law sooner or later." Den whispered back.

Pero ng makalapit na sila, mas lalo akong nagulat ng bigla akong samaplin ni Fille sa pisngi ng malakas. "That's for leaving my little sister." She said after slapping me.

Napahawak na lang ako sa pisngi ko dahil sa sobrang gulat. I do not know how to react. Heck, I do not even know what to say. I became stiff like a soldier who's being lectured by his commander. Agad namang tinignan ni Den ang pisngi ko.

"Ate! That's not nice!" Den hissed at her sister. But Fille just ignored. She surprised me even more when she suddenly hugged me next.

"And this is for coming back for her." Fille whispered to my ear. "Ninang ako ah." She added with a teasing giggle. I couldn't help but turn red out of embarrassment which caught Den's attention. She creased her forehead and glared at me.

"Okay that's enough. I need to go back to the hospital. We better start going." Greg separated Fille from me.

"Alvy, though we still need to talk about a lot of things, I'll let you slide for now. For now, ihatid mo na si Den sa unit niya." Fille let go at saka niya tinapik ang balikat ko. She wiggled her eyebrows tsaka binigyan ako ng "alam mo na" look kaya naramdaman kong mas lalo akong namula.

"Kuya, my duty rin po ako kaya sasabay na ako kila chief." Liza kissed my cheek at sumunod na siya kay boss na hinawakan na naman ang kamay ni Fille.
