JAXON WAS IN THE MIDDLE of the forest, in the location Kai gave him as he looked for Landon. He did waste five minutes with Kai and another five taking all his time walking.

"Landon!" He called out, looking around, "come out, come out whenever you—" He cut himself off by the sound of footsteps approaching. Turning around, he saw Hope and Josie walking towards him.

"You're back," Jaxon breathed out, a smile reaching his face at the sight of his sister. He approached them as Josie smiled brightly before rushing into his arms, hugging him tightly, "hey, Jax. I missed you so much!"

"Missed you too," Jaxon held her close but he was unable to ignore the darkness that was radiation off her. He pulled away, held her by her shoulders as he stared at her with a frown, "what did you do?"

"N-Nothing," she replied, faking confusion, "what do you mean?"

Before Jaxon could reply, Alaric walked towards Jaxon and hugged him. Jaxon was slightly taken aback by the hug but once he composed himself, he hugged the older man back and couldn't help but tease him, "awe somebody missed me."

"You have no idea," Alaric mumbled, sighing when he broke the hug. "For once in my life, I actually missed your annoying presence."

"Feeling real touched right now," Jaxon commented sarcastically, "hey, I've got a gift for you. He's real chained up."

Jaxon nodded as Hope looked around and frowned when she couldn't see her friend, "where's Landon?"

"I have absolutely no idea," Jaxon replied with no concern in his tone, "but he's fine though. He's very much alive."

"How can you tell?"

"I would've been able to sense it if someone close by has died." He replied as Hope made her way to stand beside him as they continued to wait for Landon to come back.

"I see him!" Josie exclaimed, her eyes in the sky which made Hope and Jaxon look up as well. They saw Landon flying with a pair of orange wings which were more like fire.

"At least dying is not the only thing he can do," Jaxon commented earning a small laugh from Josie who still held a grudge towards the phoenix, "right?"

"Quiet, both of you." Hope spoke up, "Landon's landing." She couldn't help but chuckle at her own words which made the others do the same.

"Like I said, you're spending way too much time with Jaxon but good one," Alaric commented, still laughing. However, they all zipped their mouths shut when Landon finally landed on the ground, holding an injured Dorian in his arms. He placed him on the ground and stared at the four.

Alaric rushed to his friend, looking at his wound, "hold in there, Dorian. We'll get you help."

"I can help," Jaxon stepped forward and bent down to Dorian while Alaric moved out of the way, giving them space. Jaxon placed his hand just above Dorian's wound and healed it within seconds.

He let out a relieved sigh, smiling at Jaxon, "thank you."

"Don't mention it," Jaxon stood up, extending a hand to Dorian who grabbed it and got up on his feet before dusting off this clothes.

"Let's return to the school," Alaric said to the group who nodded before they began walking back to the school.

Once they reached, MG walked up to them, "Dr Saltzman, I think you'd want to see this. We, uh, found Rafael and he's in your office."

"Wait, what do you mean ‘found’?" Jaxon asked, "he was lost?"

"Not that I know of," Landon responded making Alaric sigh as he turned to them, "all of you, go to your rooms and rest. You've had a long day. I'll deal with this and keep you informed."

With a nod, they didn't argue and went to their rooms. As he and Hope entered his room, they both took a shower and changed into their sleepwear. Jaxon did not bother wearing a shirt but only a pair of grey sweatpants.

Hope went to lie down on his bed, pulling the blanket over her as she stared at her boyfriend who was standing near the window, a cigarette in between his fingers as his mind went to Josie. He couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

"Jaxon?"

"Hmm?" He turned to her, taking a drag of the substance as she asked, "won't you sleep?"

"In a bit," he said, "you sleep."

"No," Hope refused, "you haven't slept last night, you might not today either so I'll sleep when you do." She patted the space next to her, "drop that thing and come here."

His lips twitched up at the commanding tone before he got rid of the cigarette and made his way towards his bed. He lied down next to her and she placed her head on his chest while his hand went to her waist, holding her close. "Sleep," she muttered, placing a lingering kiss on his neck

"Do that again and sleep will be the last—" he was cut off by her, "no, shut up," her voice held amusement, "we're both tired so we are sleeping. Good night."

"Good night."
