Three days later Lyla decided she had enough to get started and not enough to keep her here.
She put her phone in the drawer of her nightstand, after texting the number to the new burner she picked up to Roy, Barbra and Connor. She had a duffel bag with her Phantom suit, a change of clothes, a blanket and a few other small supplies.
She was headed to meet Connor in a little town in upstate New York where she had tracked some odd radiation and was sure it was Cadmus.
Connor was eager to help her take down Cadmus, but he was sure they didn't have Jason. She hoped he was wrong because she really hated the alternative.
She left a note for Alfred on her nightstand, promising she'd only come back when she had answers and headed down to the cave.
It was early evening and Batman had already taken to the streets while Alfred was out running errands, so the house and cave where empty.
There was no one to say goodbye to.
She took a deep breath through her nose as she took the cave in, not for the last time but for the last time for a long while.
