Valerie

I lay on Mateo's chest, his hands rubbing my back softly. I smile at Mateo's rhythmic heart beat, the sound of his heartbeat putting my mind at ease.

"What's on your mind?" Mateo breaks the silence & I shrug.

"Nothing really." I whisper.

"Mhm." He hums.

We lay in comfortable silence until the sound of Mateo's phone ringing interrupts the silence. I sigh & lift my head off Mateo's chest allowing him to lean to side, so he'll be able to grab his phone off the night stand.

"Sí?" He groans, his deep voice sending chills through my body.

I sit up & wrap the covers around me. I watch Mateo carefully as he speaks rapidly on the phone in his native tongue. From his facial expressions, he's pissed.

"I'll be on my way." He speaks & ends the call. He quickly stands & begins getting dressed.

"Are you okay?" I question concerned & he rubs his hands down his face.

"No. 3 fucking warehouses have been burned to the ground. 5 million worth of drugs & guns have all been stolen & others have been burned." He groans, his eyes darkening.

I stand from the bed, the white sheet falling from my body exposing my naked body. I walk around the bed & slowly walking towards him. I wrap my arms around his body & I feel him relax a bit. I rest my head on his chest & he massages my ass.

"Angel, I have to leave right now." He speaks softly & I nod my head.

"Please be safe." I whisper. I lift my head & stare at him. He smiles & leans down placing a soft kiss on my lips before pulling away.

"I will."

I pull away & sit on the bed, I watch him as he loads his guns. I gulp & say a silent prayer.

"I love you angel." His eyes soften at me & I smile.

"& I love you handsome." I speak softly making him smile.

He grabs his suit jacket & before he left our bedroom, he places multiple kisses on my face before leaving.

I sigh & shut my eyes.

"God please watch over him." I whisper.

Mateo

I step out of my car & slam the door shut. I head over to Apollo & Leonardo who are standing outside, they're faces blank. Milo & Sage are in Italy dealing with the other burned warehouse.

"What the fuck happened?" I point at the warehouse.

"Someone is stealing our guns & setting our warehouses on fire." Apollo speaks & I scoff.

"I can see that!" I sigh & Apollo chuckles in response.

"Mateo, this issue began a little after Zoe's death. Someone in the inside is doing this." Leo speaks up & I hold the bridge of my nose, my anger rising.
