~ Theo's POV ~

I carefully lifted her off the ground and made my way over to our truck. No one tried to stop me, people stood there watching as I carried away the love of my life. Her body limp in my arms, I tried to get this image out of my mind, she looked like she had already left us. Liam followed close behind me, even though people seemed like they had made a truce, even he didn't trust this. He was protecting us.

When we reached the truck, I laid her inside.

"Wait!" Liam demanded.

I looked at him confused as he pushed me aside.

He started to unzip his hoodie she was wearing.

"What are you doing?" I growled.

I grabbed his arm and turned him around. He was now face to face with me, my eyes yellow and my teeth showing.

"Calm down, trust me." He said with certainty.

He shrugged off my hold and refused to let me pull him back.

I watched as he unzipped the hoodie further, exposing something black underneath it.

"Go to the other side and help me." He ordered.

I shifted back as I ran to the other side of the truck and got in, now sitting behind her I held her up in a sitting position.

He removed the hoodie and a gasp escaped me.

"This is why the arrows caused no blood?"

"Yes."

He now unbuckled a black bulletproof vest and I helped him remove it. Now covered in a lot less blood she didn't look like a murder victim but we were both still so terrified she wouldn't wake up.

We laid her down gently in the backseat of the truck, I got out, and made my way back over to Liam.

"Was this, all of this, what you both were keeping from me?"

His eyes wouldn't meet my gaze.

"Liam!" I demanded.

"Yes, this was their plan. They wouldn't let her tell anyone but me. It hurt her to keep this from you, she was terrified of this plan. She was afraid it would hurt you."

I could feel the rage in me close to boiling over.

"She wants to be the one to explain it to you."

"If she makes it." I stated through gritted teeth.

"She'll make it, she's a fighter."

I turned around to see Derek standing there.

"She didn't want to do this, she only agreed because it had the chance to save you."

I sighed.

"She'd do anything to protect you, even if it meant losing her own life. You're more important to her than anything else in this world." Derek stated.

I closed my eyes trying to calm myself.

"Theo, we've got this under control for now. Take her home." Derek suggested.

"Home..." I whispered.

"You need to take her home." Liam stated.

I nodded.

I walked around to the driver's side and got in. I turned on the truck and headed home. Our home.

I kept glancing back in the mirror seeing her just lying there.

"I'm sorry."

I can't help but blame myself. Logically I knew this wasn't my fault, but I couldn't help but be sorry. It's my job to protect her. Sometimes I feel like I'm failing her because I can't always protect her.

But I know what she'd say to that. She'd tell me to breathe, that I can't control everything. She'd tell me that all we can do is our best. She'd say that she loves me and that my love protects her more then I'd ever know. She'd tell me that sometimes bad things will happen and it's how we choose to handle these things that matter. She'd promise me that I'm not failing her, that she knows I'm fighting for her, for us. She knows. She always knows.

When I made it to our cabin, I pulled around to the back, and parked close to the door. I unlocked the cabin door then went to pick her up. I carried her inside and laid her on our bed.

I went into the bathroom and got a wet washcloth then sat next to her on the bed. As I washed away the blood from her pale skin, I couldn't help but have fear wash over me again. What if she didn't wake up? What if this was it? If I lost her today, truly lost her, would I even be able to survive?

I shook my head; I knew the answers to these questions. As much as I try to be tough, I know I need her. My life completely changed the day she saved my life and she's been saving me ever since.

I put the washcloth in the laundry and grabbed her some pajamas and very carefully changed her clothes. I changed mine and laid next to her on the bed.

I gently ran my fingers through her hair as tears ran down my cheeks.

"Please come back to me." I whispered.

I laid my head on her chest with my arm across her waist. I couldn't stop the tears from coming. Her heart sounded so weak and I was terrified that one of these beats would be the last.

I felt like I was holding on for dear life. She is my life, if I lose her...

As I lay here my mind takes over with memories, the good and bad. If she comes back to me, I swear I will do everything in my power to prove to her everyday how much I love her.

Exhaustion starting to take over, I'm doing my best to keep my eyes open. I don't want to miss a thing. Not a single moment.

The tears still escaping me as I lay against her, I hold her a bit tighter.

"I love you Bec, my mind is spiraling, and I don't think I will survive losing you. I can't lose you."

I couldn't help but close my eyes. I tried to focus on her heart beat and her breathing.

Her heart beat is one of my favorite sounds.

A yawn escaped me and I could feel the exhaustion taking over.

"Must stay awake." I mumbled.

I felt her fingers gently move the hair from my face.

Was I imagining this?

I tried to open my eyes but I was falling asleep.

"Let go of the pain, sleep now love." I heard her voice very faintly say.

If this is a dream...

There's her touch again. Her hand in my hair.

"Bec... don't leave me."

"I will never leave you."

I felt myself nod to this.

Such a beautiful dream this had to be.

"I love you, Theo."

"I love you."
