Chapter Twenty Eight

Abrielle

"Nice to meet you too." I gave a weak smile.

"I'm going to the john I'll be back." Jenna patted Seth's knee and she disappeared through the crowd.

Seth patted the seat next to him. I sat next to him and another guy sat on the side of me. Making me push my hip and thigh right next to Seth's. Awkward.

"Sorry." I managed to say over the music.

"Its fine. So are you having fun?" He smiled.

I shrugged and looked over to Adam. He held a beer in his hand as our gazes met. Seth looked over in his direction and saw Adam.

"That him?" He leaned into me and I smelled his cologne.

I nodded and got up from my seat before I my eyes started to tear up.

"I'll talk to you later."

"You sure your okay?" His eyes looked at me with worry.

"Yeah. Don't worry about me have fun." I walked through the croud to the kitchen.

"Hey." A guy entered the kitchen behind me.

"Hi." I glanced at him as I grabbed a bottle of water.

"I'm Seth and Kats friend from elementary school. My name is Machi..."

"I'm friends with Katherine, Abrielle." I shook his hand.

"Your smile...its something else." He looked me with his sleepy brown eyes.

"Thanks."

"You're from around here? I've never seen you before." He inquired.

"No. I live out west." I replied as Katheine entered the kitchen.

"What are you guys up to?" Katherine came giving us the side eye.

"Ah! What's up Kat!" Machi wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Hey Machi, I see you met Abrielle." She looked at me smirking.

"Yeah. She was just saying she wanted to go on a date with me tomorrow." Machi smirked and drank the rest of whatever he was sipping on. My mouth dropped open as I was about to oppose his accusation when Kat interrupted.

"What? Abrielle you bounce back fast!" Katherine clapped as she laughed

"No no I-" I stammered.

"Who's going where?" Seth said as he walked in with Jenna and Raphael strolling behind them.

"Machi and Abrielle." Katherine's eyebrows bounced up and down.

"Oh really?" Seth looked into his fridge.

"We should all go out together!" Katherine screeched.

"Kat..." I massaged my temples.

"Come on Abrielle! It will be fun." Katherine clung to my arm batting her eye lashes.

"Yeah I'm not that bad." Machi shrugged.

"Seth and Jenna can come too!" Katherine added.

"No." Seth said firmly.

"Im in." Jenna said grabbing a sandwich.

"Now you have to come!" Kat stuck out her tongue at Seth.

"I didn't say yes though and he made it all up!" I folded my arms.

"He's cool though Abrielle! Tell her Seth!" Abrielle looked for his reassurance.

"He's cool. But he's no me." Seth said arrogantly. Do I detect jealously?
